Audacity 2.1.1 released
Audacity 2.1.1 has been released, and can be downloaded from the Audacity website: http://audacityteam.org/ A direct link to the download is: http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html/audacity-win-2.1.1.exe I've updated my guide to Audacity for Jaws users, and it's available here: http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Audacity-2.1.1-Guide.html The guide is also nearly all applicable to users of NVDA and Window-Eyes. Audacity 2.1.1 includes the following new features which are relevant to the users of screen readers: 1. The transport status is now the first item in the status bar. This tells you whether Audacity is stopped, playing or recording, and whether it is Paused. 2. There are four new playback keystrokes for checking a selected time range. 3. There are two new playback keystrokes to help with aligning and pasting. 4. You can now move to the first track or the last track by pressing ctrl+home or ctrl+end respectively. 5. You can now assign shortcuts to the commands for moving a track up, down, to top, or to bottom. The names of the commands are move focused track up, down, to top, and to bottom. In the Introduction of the Jaws guide, there's a sub section on new features, where either details or links to the details of these new features are given. David.

The thing is that the newer models like ls14 and dm901 don't allow uploading voice files as the older models. When ever are more voice file updates you will then have to download a seprit voice updater program wich will bring the files up to date, after wich you can choose another language if supported. Keep in mind that not all display languages are supported by speech. The manual and spesifications are very clear about that. On an Olympus LS-14 bought from Japan there are English Japanese with voice guidance for each language so when display language is changed voice guidance language changes as well. On the other hand on a dm-901 purchased in Sweden although there are many languages on the screen voice guidance came only in English. I updated the firmware on dm-901 to the latest and when installed Swedish voice guidance file English disappeared and was replaced, vice versa happened when I installed the English voice guidance file. My question is how to to make multiple voice guidance language files active on demand like in the situation of LS-14 mentioned above and not replace each other? My other question is I want to replace Japanese on LS-14 with Swedish both on the display as well as voice guidance. How to accomplish that? When I searched the downloads of LS-14 I only found the manual for ls-12/14, no firmware nor voice guidance files, regards. -- Georges Zeinoun Timmerv. 6A ITR LGH1102, 54163 SKÖVDESWEDEN Tel: +46 (500) 48 29 29 Mobile: +46 (73) 986 17 43 -- Facebook: m.facebook.com/aidan.maher92 Skype: andries4451 Twitter: smarttalk7 Audioboo: www.audioboo.com/DjSpotlight
Total Recorder and hibernate
Listers, Just wondering if anybody can tell me if TR 8.5 actually works with sleep mode with Windows 8.1? I don't see any option for it in the advanced scheduling options, so just wondering if hibernation will accomplish the same thing? Thanks, Larry

question about Windows media Player
Hello, I use Windows Media Player 12 on a Win 7 Home Premium machine; in a playlist, is there a way for my screen reader (I use System Access) to announce each track, for example chapters in a series of Bible stories I have in a playlist? Thanks. Peter
