transfering from cassettes
hello friends, i was speaking with a guy yesterday who told me there is a way to transfer material from cassette to the PC i know i can transfer stuff putting the cassette player through my mixer and using sound forge to record, and will do that if necessary when i have a lot of free time, however, this guy reckons there is software available to do this more quicly using a USB cable, any ideas or suggestions? i do have a cassette player stored away somewhere and if there is a quick way to transfer material i'll dig it out, thanks for all your help so far, god bless, travel safely, joe., To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: transfering from cassettes
I gave up on all those tricky switches and just went to Fry's and bought a casset player that does it all. You just put in the tape, press the right buttons an your tape plays and is saved on PC. You use the adocity program to do the work. It was about $70 but i had at least 300 tapes to transfer. I guess you can do this with programs and a recorder but it was easier for me this way. yeti blue usb microphone
Hi all Just some impressions about this microphone which I received this morning. I am so far very impressed. It is very sturdily built and most definitely the best microphone I have owned by far. This is most definitely not something you can carry around with you and something you would most definitely not want to drop onto your toes by accident. Unboxing and connecting is very simple and quick. Im rather a beginner where microphones and recording is concerned. Ive been used to working with dynamic mics mostly so the amount of volume and clarity this microphone can produce came almost as a shock. The microphone has a gain control on top which is very handy. One of the nicest feature of this microphone is that fact that it has its own headphone amplifier through which you can monitor the sound of the microphone. This headphone is also a output soundcard which allows you to monitor the sound coming out of the microphone as well as listeng to all other sound output from the computer. The only problem I have when using the microphone on its desk stand is that it picks up a hum from other electronic equipment on the computer stand. You should be able to illuminate this by placing it on another stand. Hope this may be of help to someone. The microphone is not cheap but well worth the money I think. I'll have to wait until my wife gets home before reading the name or brand. But it is not sold as a recorder in itself. The unit is designed and sold as a casset transfer item. PlexTalk Pocket
With the latest update I saw it mentioned that epub is possible with the PlexTalk Pocket. When we looked at the spoken documentation on the device we heard epub2 was one of the formats supported. With this in mind I have the following questions: What is epub2? Does that mean I can read books with the epub extension if they are not protected? Where do I put these books in order to read them?
