Just below that text is an area that will show all 32 bit JRE's that are installed on your computer. If you have a 32 bit JRE installed it will show in that area and should have a filled radio button before the vendor and version information. If that area is blank there is no 32 bit JRE installed. For a visual representation of what you should see if a proper JRE is installed and functioning for AOO see the following link to the 4.x User Guide in development. https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/UserGuide/Options/AOO#Making_Java_work_on_Apache_OpenOffice Regards Keith PS Please reply only to the list and not to my personal e-mail address. > > On 10 May 2017 at 13:59, Keith N. Re: Problem creating a Data Base in OO Base
Thanks. I believe that I have tried all that but still no success. One thing I noted however was that the screen where you check that you want to run a JAVA Runtime environment, also says: "Java Runtime Environments already installed" Does this "installed": refer to the computer in general or to the particular Database I am trying to work with? Is it possible that I did succeed in installing a JRE but possibly the wrong one? How can I check this? On 10 May 2017 at 13:59, Keith N. AOO is a 32 bit application on windows and requires the 32 bit JRE. go to the following link and choose either of the first 2 downloads. They are for the 32 bit JRE that you need. Install that and open AOO and navigate to Tools/Options/OpenOffice/Java and verify that the box for Use a Java Run Time Environment is checked and that the window displays the information for the JRE. If it does click OK and you should be able to start building your database. Regards Keith signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Problem creating a Data Base in OO Base
I am a total neophyte in computers but wish to try creating a data base to mange physical files. When trying to create a Data Base I get messages that I must install and access Java JRE. I believe I have down loaded the correct JRE but I cannot create the data base after following the instructions TOOLS; OPTIONS; JAVA Etc. The Users List seems to be the only place I can go for help. I can’t find anyone to talk to in OO Sent from Mail for Windows 10
