Remember, you can format and reinstall in 2 hours. Or have an image from a week ago restored. But if you screw around chatting about removal, it will take *days*. That is only true if you have all the drivers you think you have. Interesting story in ComputerWorld about Vista driver woes.

I think it's a given that converting to Excel format will flatten the heck out of this db. In a way that might require custom coding to recover from. But maybe they just want to use Excel for output/conversion to web format? Nothing wrong with that, as long as the db is intact. Access should be

When was the last time the folders were compacted? I encountered a situation where the emails wouldn't load in a folder (such as inbox), and after compacting the folder, the emails returned. Ended up going through and compacting all of the folders for prevention. Just a thought... Richard P.
