I think before I let them flatten it I'd consider online solutions
too. Does Google offer a real database app now?
Current item of interest is blist.com which provides a happy Flash
interface to PostgreSQL.

Remember, you can format and reinstall in 2 hours. Or have an image
from a week ago restored. But if you screw around chatting about
removal, it will take *days*.
That is only true if you have all the drivers you think you have.
Interesting story in ComputerWorld about Vista driver woes.
I think it's a given that converting to Excel format will flatten the
heck out of this db. In a way that might require custom coding to
recover from.
But maybe they just want to use Excel for output/conversion to web
format? Nothing wrong with that, as long as the db is intact. Access

I see there are removal instructions. I can't say though whether I
might not just format and reinstall Windows; probably depend on how
bloated I'd let it get. Presumably all your personal data is safe in a
recent backup, but you don't have images?

When was the last time the folders were compacted? I encountered a
situation where the emails wouldn't load in a folder (such as inbox),
and after compacting the folder, the emails returned. Ended up going
through and compacting all of the folders for prevention. Just a thought...

You succeeded in making me both nostalgic and home sick all at once.
Apparently you can still meet under the Eagle but it is a Macy's now.
I hope the Warthog is still there.
Does Macy's have somebody playing the organ?
The bronze iggle is still in the Macy's Philadelphia store by city hall.
The Wanamaker Organ has it's own monthly radio show on WRTI
http://www.wrti.org/wanamakerorgan.html and the regular schedule is
posted here http://www.wanamakerorgan.com/index1.html. According to
the Friends of the Wanamaker Organ it is valued at $57 million.

Very concise. Not necessarily sufficient.
If you have lost the indications of unread messages that shows up in the
left hand pane in parentheses, that probably means the indices (*.msf
folders) are hosed.

That isn't the Boar I remember. I thought there was a smaller one
