SIR LAURENCE?
New claims that Sir Laurence Gardner is a shape-shifter who takes part in
human sacrifice rituals.
Major revelations about the reptilian presence on this planet.

Many people were understandably shocked and skeptical when Arizona Wilder
claimed in the video, Revelations of a Mother Goddess, that Sir Laurence
Gardner, the author and head of the ancient Royal Court of the Dragon
Sovereignty, was a shape-shifting reptilian who took part in Satanic human
sacrifice rituals she had witnessed.
Nexus Magazine, and its publisher, Duncan Roads, have been particularly
scathing of these claims. Hardly surprising, when Sir Laurence Gardner has
been massively promoted by Roads and his magazine.
But now the author and lecturer, Stewart Swerdlow, says that he also
witnessed human sacrifice and blood drinking rituals at the Montauk mind
control centre on Long Island, New York, in which Sir Laurence Gardner
played a major role.
Swerdlow is the author of five books, The Montauk Project: The Alien
Connection; The Healers Handbook; As You Sow, So You Shall Reap; Healing of
the Mind; and The White Owl Legend. He says he was a victim of the now
extensively documented mind control operation at Montauk Point from the age
of 14 in the early seventies. He was one of the so-called Montauk Boys.
He has never named names before, but has now chosen to talk to me about his
experience of Sir Laurence, who has gained fame in recent years on the New
Age and Holy Grail circuit for his books claiming that the Merovingian
bloodline is the bloodline of Jesus. His best known works are Bloodlines of
the Holy Grail and the Genesis of the Grail Kings: The Explosive Story of
Genetic Cloning and the Ancient Bloodline of Jesus.
I have most strongly contended in my own books and talks that this claim
about the bloodline of Jesus is a diversion from the fact that the Holy
Grail or Merovingian bloodline is a key reptilian bloodline from which vast
numbers of people in royal, political, economic, religious, and military
power today, genetically descend. It is the desire to maintain this
reptilian genetic structure which has led to the obsessive interbreeding for
aeons to the present day of the elite families.
Sir Laurence himself calls these Holy Grail bloodlines the dragon
bloodlines, but claims that this term derives from the use of crocodile fat
in the royal ceremonies of ancient Egypt. I would contend that the word
dragon has a much more fundamental meaning than that. These bloodlines,
which have invariably ended up in the positions of power since pre-history,
have a much more dominant reptilian genetic code which has resulted from
interbreeding thousands of years ago between a reptilian race (the Serpent
race of endless legend) and the mammal-dominated bloodlines which we call
human.
Sir Laurence claims that the dragon bloodline, which he connects to the
House of Stewart, has the right to the British throne and indeed that these
bloodlines have the right to rule in general. According to him the senior
legitimate descendant in this line is HRH Prince Michael Stewart, Count of
Albany, although the background to this guy is being increasingly questioned
and there are claims that he has invented the title.
Sir Laurence also talks in positive terms about the drinking of menstrual
blood, or Starfire, which, interestingly, was the Illuminati code name of
Arizona Wilder, the Mother Goddess who conducted sacrificial rituals for
the Illuminati in a mind-controlled state (See Revelations of a Mother

In my view it is classic disinformation or what I call gin and tonic with a
twist. A great deal of truth, spun with the idea that these dragon
bloodlines are not literally reptilian and are, instead, the genetic stream
of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. In an article in Nexus Magazine, he
acknowledges that ancient legends said these lines were literally
shape-shifting reptilians, but in an obvious swipe at The Biggest Secret, he
says that it is astonishing in these more enlightened times that anyone can
still believe it.
Sorry, Sir Laurence, the evidence will overwhelm you and is already
beginning to do so.
Laurence Gardner has quite a CV: Chancellor of the Royal Court of the Dragon
Sovereignty, which first emerged in Egypt in around 2,200BC and is now based
in Britain; Prior of the Celtic Church's Sacred Kindred of St Columba, and
an internationally known sovereign and chivalric genealogist Chevalier
Labhran de Saint Germain, Presidential Attache to the European Council of
Princes - a constitutional advisory body established in 1946 formally
attached to the Noble Household Guard of the Royal House of Stewart, founded
at St German-enLaye in 1692, and is the Jacobite Historiographer Royal.

I THINK CATS ARE GREAT, says E. Fuller Torrey. His office decor would seem to
confirm this statement: A cat poster hangs on one wall; a cat calendar sits on
his desk; and a framed picture of a friend's cat leans against the windowsill.
He even admits to having a cat library at home.


But Torrey's interest in felines is a bit different from that of your typical
cat lover. That's because Torrey, a psychiatry professor at the Uniformed
Services University of Health Science and the enfant terrible of mental health
research, believes that Felis domestica may carry infectious diseases that
could cause schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. My wife thinks I'm going to be
assassinated by cat owners, says Torrey with a sigh. In fact, I like cats.
Unfortunately, if we are correct that they transmit infections... Here his
voice trails off, and he pensively fingers his closely cropped beard.


Torrey often speaks in a self-deprecating manner of his delusional notions,
but he's dead serious about the cat connection. He thinks typhoid tabbies are
passing along Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that causes brain lesions and, if
Torrey is right, schizophrenia.



Torrey first made the argument nearly thirty years ago. It was considered
psychotic, he admits. But since then, his ideas, though still outside the
mainstream, have attracted converts, most notably the Johns Hopkins virologist
Robert Yolken, with whom he now collaborates. Together, they're trying to prove
that toxoplasmosis is but one of several infectious diseases that cause most
cases of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It helps their case that previous
explanations—bad mothering, bad genes—have proven deficient to varying degrees.
But Torrey and Yolken have also uncovered some hard evidence to support their
claims, and they are about to put their theory to the test with clinical trials
of drugs that are new to the psychopharmacological arsenal: antibiotics and
antivirals similar to those used by AIDS patients. If the duo finds that such
drugs alter the course of schizophrenia, Yolken observes, their results would
represent a major advance in the treatment of this devastating disease as well
as in understanding its basic etiology.


SCHIZOPHRENIA is a cruel disease, Torrey has written, with considerable
understatement. Although it affects only 1 percent of the population,
schizophrenia is among the most debilitating forms of mental illness. Trapped
in a world of private delusions, a schizophrenic might cling, for example, to
the belief that he is Jesus Christ, or that the government has implanted a
monitoring device in his mouth during a routine dental procedure. Visual and
auditory hallucinations can range from the terrifying to the merely strange:
gigantic spiders, voices that insult or instruct. Some schizophrenics withdraw,
becoming mute or catatonic; others remain communicative but incoherent, jumping
from one topic to another without logical connections.


With little or no warning, schizophrenia usually manifests itself in patients
between the ages of sixteen and thirty. From then on, the illness waxes and
wanes, with symptoms generally becoming less severe as the patient ages.
Psychotherapy is of little help to schizophrenics, but medication and constant
medical care enable over 50 percent to make a full recovery. Still, relapses
are common, and many patients spend their lives in halfway houses and
institutions. Approximately 40 percent of schizophrenics don't get the help
they need and end up on the streets or in prisons—or committing suicide.


There has never been a consensus on schizophrenia's etiology or cause. Many
nineteenth-century psychiatrists thought it was a biological disorder; some
speculated that it might have an infectious origin. As far back as 1845, the
French neurologist Jean E. Esquirol wrote that mental alienation is epidemic.
He added: It is certain that there are years when...insanity seems suddenly to
extend to a great number of individuals. In 1874, the American Journal of
Insanity published a lengthy brief titled On the Germ-Theory of Disease. By
the early twentieth century, doctors like Eugen Bleuler had suggested that the
connection of [schizophrenia] to infectious process equally needs further
study. An outbreak of psychoses after the 1918 influenza epidemic and the
discovery that syphilis could cause dementia lent further credence to such
theories. In 1922, the psychiatrist Karl Menninger hypothesized that
schizophrenia was in most instances the by-product of viral encephalitis.


Menninger later became a prominent Freudian psychoanalyst, following a career
trajectory that mirrored a larger movement in American psychiatry away from
biological explanations of mental illness. By the 1950s, Freudian thought had
solidified its grip on the American psychiatric profession. That also happened
to be the

Well people are finally waking up to the fact that their children are

Remember once when in elementary school my mother found out in the
little girls rooms, there were no doors on the johns..and teachers
would walk in and look around - little 2 and 3 graders..and two bull
mooses seemed to be in charge.

So my mother who was also a school teacher but not in school employ at
the time, began to wonder about these people.

So being a good researcher and not wanting to embarrass anybody, she
attended a school board meeting and had the owner of the local newspaper
with her..she questioned why inasmuch the taxpayers had paid for
these doors on the johns for the little kiddies restrooms, why they had
not been installed?

Well within a week an embarrassed school board had the doors installed
and no more peep shows.

I still remember those two women and both were built like Janet
Reno..some of these bull moose have a style unto themselves.

Well today a few people might have beenup on charges over matters like
this, but my mother was just to Victorian and polite to get at the root
of the problem - these two old bats were lesbians and some of the people
involved in the school were enjoying what in their minds might be child
pornogrpahy.

Today note how we now see people seated on a toilet over and over and
over again until we get accustomed to such crude programming?

But see it always starts with the kiddies, doesn't it..now had it
been me, I would have gone to the school that day and said get these god
damned bull moose out of our schools and put the doors on the
johns.a matter of privacy.

Ah but you see it has all become Show and Tell Day - but hey, next comes
the Show and Not Tell Day?

By the waya that negro family in Georgia had their show and tell days
with dead bodies, but what about the little 11 year old girl Carol
Bechtol whose mother took cement ashes for burial at the Dolphin Park.
But we are told not to worry, this former TEACHER, and former CHAIRMAN
OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTy that someone had given this computer to her son
and those dead bodies were not any of the bodies they had.if so
whose bodies where they pray tell -   So another oh so respected school
teacher with her famly of ghouls praying on bodies, 99 percent of which
were white.

Lets have big Show and Tell Days in the Schools - get those lesbian
nurses and homosexual teachers for it is SHOW TIME.

Principal, teacher removed from Pitcher Elementary while district
investigates alleged strip search

The principal and a teacher have been removed from Pitcher Elementary
School while the Kansas City School District investigates allegations
that third-graders were subjected to an improper search, district
spokesman Edwin Birch said today.
The principal is Jana Schwimmer. The teacher was not identified.
Parents and students at Pitcher met this morning with a state
investigator and school district attorneys to discuss the alleged strip
search over $5 of missing money.
The district has to investigate these allegations, Birch said. We
wanted to reassure them (the parents and students) that we want to do
the right thing.
The state also must investigate, he said, which is why an investigator
with the Missouri Division of Family Services joined the meeting.
Parents have complained that children told them earlier this week that
boys had to drop their pants to be searched by an adult male, while
girls were searched by other girls.
District policy does not allow strip searches and specifies that any
other search cannot be done in front of other students.

Your argument basically begs the question over and over, a logical fallacy.
You still have not proven your own conclusion using your own logical tools
which you use to tear down the theory of evolution: that there was a
creation. Use your logic to prove your point, now: there is creation by a
sentient being. I challenge you.

I hear a lot of logic used against evolution, but I hear very little in
support of it, and the logic I have heard in support of it comes down to
this point: How could it not be intelligent design, given all this? And
that is awe and bewilderment as a conclusion, and it is poetic, but it is
not logic, nor it is a basis for a theorem.

We are often stricken in awe at the vast wonder of the universe, but it does
not prove that a being created it, much as we want to believe it.

I am not saying that someone or thing did not create it, but I want to be
shown, using these same tools of logic, exactly how and why someone or thing
did create all of this. And religous texts do NOT count. Remember, you are
defending the point using logic, not faith.

It would be even more amazing if it could be proven empirically that it were
done in seven days. But that is perhaps asking to much - not the creation,
as that would be fantastic in and of itself, but the timeline.

I want to believe you. But I can't, not yet. You have only proven your
ability to poke tiny holes in the ideas which disagree with yours, not in
supporting your own ideas.

 But in the daily practice of scientific discovery, your Discovery Religion
 TV has its problems more in psychoepistemology, ie how and why we know
 what we know. You are blinded by the dogmas of Scientism and engage in
 what the psychologist calls denial and escapism. You escape into the
 fantasy and delusion that you have scientific proof where you do not.
 And you pass this false belief, which is both bad science and bad
 religion, onto the public. Two cases in point: (1) darwinian dogmas; (2)
 einsteinian dogmas.

 I suggest that you come right out and Beatify these men so that the public
 will not be further deceived by what you are broadcasting. Darwinian
 dogma's undoing is its own realization that mutation is a sine qua non for
 it to work. Take as an example the fact that some fish have stronger
 fins than others and can use them to crawl across mud flats. Darwinianism
 asserts that such appendages must evolve into limbs so that land animals
 can emerge from sea animals. But you can apply mutagenic agents all you
 want to fish in the lab. You will get a vast number of highly distorted
 and maladaptive creatures (creatures with malformed bones in huge numbers,
 malformations which strangely do not litter the fossil record as
 darwinism predicts they should). But you will not get legs. Some novices
 confuse selection with mutation. Yes, natural selection can be taken into
 the lab with ease and with great success. Animal husbandry has worked with
 artificial selection for thousands of years. It would give you bigger fish
 fins or stronger fish fins. But selection can only work on what exists. It
 cannot create a new form, eg a leg on a fish. That requires mutation. And
 mutation has been proven in the lab to be a failure as a mechanism in
 darwinism to explain what we see in nature.

   With the Taliban toppled, Afghan
opium is flooding Iran

   FROM the point of view of their
Iranian neighbours, the Taliban did two good
   things. Their leader, Mullah Omar,
banned the cultivation of opium poppies,
   and he enforced that ban brutally.
Iran's leaders much prefer Afghanistan's
   new interim prime minister, Hamid
Karzai, to his iron-fisted predecessor, but
   wish he was tougher on drugs.
Although Mr Karzai has banned both
   poppy-growing and drug-trafficking,
he cannot stop the trade.

   What the Afghans grow, Iranians
smoke or inject. At least 2m Iranians are
   addicted to opium and its
derivatives, morphine and heroin. Mr Omar's ban
   may have been a cynical ploy to win
diplomatic recognition, but it caused
   production to plummet and the price
of opium to quadruple in a few months.
   Impoverished Iranian addicts
suddenly applied in record numbers for help in
   kicking the habit. Overcoming its
revulsion for the Taliban, Iran sent experts
   to Helmand, Afghanistan's main
poppy-producing province, to encourage
   farmers to grow other crops.

   All this happened at a time when
Iran's domestic drugs policy was becoming
   more open and effective. Muhammad
Falah, the man in charge, encouraged
   non-governmental organisations to
set up rehabilitation clinics, spoke out
   against the mass imprisonment of
drug addicts, and even argued for the
   distribution of clean syringes in
jails. Such ideas were unthinkable in the bad
   old days, when the government's aim
was to disguise the problem.

   America attacked Afghanistan last
year at poppy-planting time. Farmers in
   Helmand took advantage of the
Taliban's disarray to sow 35,000 hectares
   (86,000 acres) with poppies and the
UN expects this year's harvest to be
   almost as bountiful as the bumper
years of the late 1990s. The local warlords,
   who probably profit from the trade,
pay little heed to Mr Karzai or his police.
   Poppies sprout fast: a first crop
will be harvested by the end of April; a
   second will be ready in June.

   Iran has strengthened security
along a border already crawling with soldiers
   and paralleled by immense trenches,
impassable even by a self-navigating
   camel with a bellyful of drugs. In
two weeks earlier this year, the security
   forces in the border province of
Sistan-Baluchistan seized six tons of drugs
   and killed, they say, 90 smugglers.
Mehdi Morassaie, the province's
   anti-drugs supremo, hopes to keep
prices high. In the main market in
   Zahedan, the provincial capital,
opium is still relatively expensive, at $750 a
   kilo. But in Tehran, where the
stuff usually costs far more, the price has fallen
   from $2,000 a kilo last November to
around $1,300. After the harvest, prices
   will surely fall further.

   Iran's leaders are understandably
frustrated. After helping bring Mr Karzai to
   power, they now have less influence
over the Afghan drug industry than
   before. Muhammad Khatami, Iran's
president, says he wants to carry on
   helping with crop substitution, but
the warlords of southern Afghanistan are
   not interested. Nor is America. An
Iranian official laments that America's new
   chumminess with Afghan warlords may
preclude a serious effort to crush the
   trade on which they depend.

Well I imagine before this is over, the woman and man who owned the
dogs, who are jewish, will be screaming anti semitism and if they
appeal, the mate of the lesbian killed by the dogs will be charging
discrimination..

As for the dogs, the the dogs usually take on the attributes, of theiri
masters  and here we had dogs that did not like, lesbians.

In fact this woman who at one time it was alleged detested the
homosexual lifestyle of the victim when the dog had previously made an
advance to this woman, its owner said it was because of the perfume she
was wearing - a type of perfume this Miglin (whose husband was murdered
along with this Versace in homosexual lovers nest) sells and hawks as a
big drawer and full of sex appeal.

It is know that Alsteir Crowley wore musk, for horses like musk and
tahey would walk over to him as if he had some magical control over him.

Now these dogs - were they affected by this woman's perfume?

Frankly between the lot of them, I would prefer the dogs had not been
executed - but then too there are people who love to execute dogs to
earn their - god what a lifestyle.

Regardless, too bad about the dogs.the others, well dogs do not
attack for no reason do they?

Forget the name of that perfume - starts with a PHE - something they put
into it, but could it have driven this dog to madness?

Now the drive will be on to kill more dogs because of a couple of dogs
that went bad...but then what caused the final attack, did this
woman order them to kill?

March 22 -- Don Newton, jury foreman in the dog-mauling trial, tells
reporter Sara James on NBC's Today show why the jury found the
defendants guilty.
   
MSNBC STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS    LOS ANGELES, March 21 —   Jurors
who found Marjorie Knoller guilty of murder in the dog-mauling death of
a neighbor said they were surprised that Knoller took the witness stand
at all. From our point of view, her testimony was not believable, said
Don Newton, 64, foreman of the seven-man, five-woman panel that
convicted Knoller and her husband Thursday in the death of Diane
Whipple, 33.

       THE JURORS SAID the San Francisco couple, whose two huge
dogs attacked Whipple last year, was arrogant and repeatedly ignored
warnings about their dogs.
       We decided there was not simply one action, Newton
said. It was a series of actions and failures to heed warnings.
       The jury said the second-degree murder charge against
Knoller was the last count decided.
       It was a painful decision, Newton said. The question
of implied malice was a difficult question to decide, but we did decide
there was implied malice in her actions.
       Knoller, who was walking the dogs when the attack
occurred, faces 15 years to life for the murder conviction. She and her
husband, Robert Noel, also were found guilty of involuntary manslaughter
and of having a mischievous dog that killed someone. He faces a maximum
of four years in prison when he and his wife are sentenced on May 10 in
San Francisco.
       
HUSBAND SEEN AS RESPONSIBLE
       While Noel wasn't present during the fatal mauling,
Newton said the jurors found that he was probably as responsible as his
wife was for the events. Robert Noel didn't seem to be a very nice
person, he said.

       Whipple was fatally mauled Jan. 26, 2001, outside her
apartment by at least one of Noel and Knoller's two huge Presa Canario
dogs.
       Jeanne Sluiman, 52, said Knoller's testimony about the
attack had so many inconsistencies that the jurors had to go beyond it
to other facts to reach their decisions.
       That was echoed by juror Shawn Antonio, 27, who said
Knoller's stories were so fabricated, it was difficult. She'd come up
with 10 scenarios of what happened and the only other witness is no
longer with us.
       Antonio said that the jurors repeatedly reviewed a tape
of a TV interview in which Knoller disavowed responsibility for
Whipple's death.
       
'NO KIND OF SYMPATHY'
       There was no kind of sympathy, no kind of apologies, he
said. It helped us a lot.
       The jurors said they thought that if the defendants
cared, they would have heeded the warnings of a veterinarian who wrote
to the couple early on about the danger the dogs posed.
       If someone wasn't arrogant they would have had to heed
that warning, Sluiman said.
       Unlike Knoller, Noel didn't testify at trial. During
deliberations, the jury asked to hear a reading of his testimony to the
grand jury that indicted the couple.

in New York, and the guy was a communist.

He had expensive tastes, however but he sure knew how to turn the blacks
in the sanitation departments into line - for Martin Luther King, did
not die for Civil Rights - he was invited to his death to walk in a
march for Dues Check Off, for AFSCME-AFL CIO by Jerry Wurf.CFR.

this is what Jimmy Hoffa meant by Sweetheart Unions.where labor and
political parties get into bed together while they rip off the workers.
You see there is such a thing as Civil Serivce and this stupid lot in
our area didn't know that the Ohio Constitution set up the Civil Service
and the State Legislature in their labor act said this Union Contract
supersedes all laws, blah blah blah.

But too late - for the Union got all the affirmative action people in
without testing, and as a result have to hire contract workers who are
loathed by union people, to do their work for them.

So much for AFSCME-AFL-CIO, once headed by Jerry Wurf, of the Council on
Foreign Relations, known comunist who left a few body bags in the area.
(Joe Gilfhalen and his wife and one son - but one got away - only in
this case no proof who did what, only threats were given to Joe and the
usual line hey got kids, got familyhe one son still lives today
and does well))

As the Democratic National Convention gets under way in Los Angeles, the
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees is once
again leading the way in soft money donations to the Democratic Party,
pouring in just less than $2 million to the party over the 2000 election
cycle, according to numbers compiled by the nonpartisan Center for
Responsive Politics. AFSCME's unparalleled support of the party (it is
the largest soft money donor this cycle to the Democratic National
Committee and related committees) continues the Democrats' tradition of
keeping close ties to the labor movement. But while the news media focus
on the union's financial generosity, little attention has been given to
AFSCME's checkered history.

(Washington, August 9) By 1996, there had been much mutual
back-scratching between the Teamsters, the White House, and the
Democratic Party. And so a deal was struck, a complicated scheme that
happens to have been illegal:

unprecedented sums into the Clinton-Gore campaign and Democratic Party
committees, and in exchange, the Democrats would help to finance
Teamster President Ron Carey's own re-election campaign. They couldn't
do that directly, of course, so the money was laundered through a
liberal public-interest organization, Citizen Action, and through other
groups, including the National Council of Senior Citizens and Project
Vote.
Federal law prohibits employers from contributing to any union election.
More than $4 million in Democratic National Committee money moved to
Citizen Action and other groups, and at least $885,000 in union funds
was illegally diverted into Carey's re-election campaign.
Today, the carnage from this scandal casts a pall over the entire labor
movement.
Three individuals pleaded guilty to embezzlement, mail fraud, and
conspiracy and cooperated with the federal prosecutors. (One of them,
Michael Ansara, continued to do major consulting business with the DNC
via his company, the Share Group .) A fourth, William Hamilton, a former
political director of the Teamsters union, was found guilty in November
1999 and sentenced to three years in prison. The AFL-CIO's No. 2
official, Richard Trumka, who as secretary-treasurer signed some of the
checks, has asserted his Fifth Amendment right against
self-incrimination – to federal prosecutors, to a court-appointed
labor investigator, to a congressional committee, and even to AFL-CIO
president John Sweeney.
It's difficult for many labor insiders to accept that Trumka hatched
such a plan. No one seems to know for sure how the high-level labor
conversations exactly went with respect to the illegal scheme involving
the Democratic Party and the Teamsters, but Gerald

of each tower had to extend more than 70 feet below ground level to rest
on solid bedrock.

it has nothing to do with whether the site was ever a landfill or not; the
WTC, being so tall and so heavy, by necessity had to dig down to

flooded by Hudson River seepage, making the building of the retaining wall
nicknamed The Bathtub to keep the water out...and to save the surrounding
buildings from collapsing...

middle of one of the most heavily commercialized districts of Lower
Manhattan, a contention which the aerial photo at the site I posted shows
is not true...

 Saba - I read this article, and I don¹t see any reference to jews or

The woman who was killed was the partner of Sharon Smith, and they were a
couple, and a lesbian couple, although that fact in and of itself was never
important in this trial, nor should it have been. Noel and Knoller tried to
make an issue out of this fact at one point, but it didn't fly. In fact, the
accused couple basically hung themselves, as the article states. I live in
the SF Bay, where this happened, and they had to move the trial because of
the seriously offensive things that the defense - even Knoller and Noel -
were saying after the charges were filed. It was ugly, thew, believe me, and
the defendants were lucky that the trial had been moved because of the bad
publicity (which had been entirely caused by themselves, I might add). It
had nothing to do with the fact that Whipple was a lesbian, and ultimately
it didn't come down to that.

And from day one of the charges filed, the defendants Noel and Knoller dug
their hole deeper and deeper and deeper. I'd almost feel that the 2nd degree
murder charge was too much, as it was a dog which got out of control and not
their own hands which killed Whipple, but, really, these two - Noel and
Knoller - just acted at every turn like they were above the whole thing,
until the end, and now we see images of Knoller crying. She's crying for
herself, not Whipple, whom her dog killed. Too bad. She attacked the victim
in her words over and over, even before the trial. And Knoller's husband
Noel fought to keep the dog alive after the initial indictment. The dog had
already killed someone, and yet he fought to keep the dog alive.

I hate to seem this callous, but these two people did hoist themselves by
their own petard, as it were. And even their lawyer was horrible (and the
defendants were both lawyers themselves! they actually wanted to defend
themselves in the beginning!). The whole thing was pathetic, and they reaped
their empty harvest.

But, Jewish? I dunno ... although they haven't played that card yet, given
everything these people have done to defend themselves, it wouldn't surprise
me if they used that one in an appeal. But Noel is part of an Aryan
brotherhood, so I seriously doubt it. But they have done just about
everything else to put themselves where they are now.

The race/sexuality issue here is a non-issue, bottom line. If either one of
them tries to play the race card, it won't fly - not because of their races
or despite it, but because they are idiots.

 I THINK CATS ARE GREAT, says E. Fuller Torrey. His office decor would seem to

 passing along Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that causes brain lesions and, if
 Torrey is right, schizophrenia.



 Torrey first made the argument nearly thirty years ago. It was considered
 psychotic, he admits. But since then, his ideas, though still outside the
 mainstream, have attracted converts, most notably the Johns Hopkins virologist
 Robert Yolken, with whom he now collaborates. Together, they're trying to prove
 that toxoplasmosis is but one of several infectious diseases that cause most
 cases of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It helps their case that previous
 explanations—bad mothering, bad genes—have proven deficient to varying degrees.
 But Torrey and Yolken have also uncovered some hard evidence to support their
 claims, and they are about to put their theory to the test with clinical trials
 of drugs that are new to the psychopharmacological arsenal: antibiotics and
 antivirals similar to those used by AIDS patients. If the duo finds that such
 drugs alter the course of schizophrenia, Yolken observes, their results would
 represent a major advance in the treatment of this devastating disease as well
 as in understanding its basic etiology.


 SCHIZOPHRENIA is a cruel disease, Torrey has written, with considerable
 understatement. Although it affects only 1 percent of the population,
 schizophrenia is among the most debilitating forms of mental illness. Trapped
 in a world of private delusions, a schizophrenic might cling, for example, to
 the belief that he is Jesus Christ, or that the government has implanted a
 monitoring device in his mouth during a routine dental procedure. Visual and
 auditory hallucinations can range from the terrifying to the merely strange:
 gigantic spiders, voices that insult or instruct. Some schizophrenics withdraw,
 becoming mute or catatonic; others remain communicative but incoherent, jumping
 from one topic to another without logical connections.


 With little or no warning, schizophrenia usually manifests itself in patients
 between the ages of sixteen and thirty. From then on, the illness waxes and
 wanes, with symptoms generally becoming less severe as the patient ages.
 Psychotherapy is of little help to schizophrenics, but medication and constant
 medical care enable over 50 percent to make a full recovery. Still, relapses
 are common, and many patients spend their lives in halfway houses and
 institutions. Approximately 40 percent of schizophrenics don't get the help
 they need and end up on the streets or in prisons—or committing suicide.


 There has never been a consensus on schizophrenia's etiology or cause. Many
 nineteenth-century psychiatrists thought it was a biological disorder; some
 speculated that it might have an infectious origin. As far back as 1845, the
 French neurologist Jean E. Esquirol wrote that mental alienation is epidemic.
 He added: It is certain that there are years when...insanity seems suddenly to
 extend to a great number of individuals. In 1874, the American Journal of
 Insanity published a lengthy brief titled On the Germ-Theory of Disease. By
 the early twentieth century, doctors like Eugen Bleuler had suggested that the
 connection of [schizophrenia] to infectious process equally needs further
 study. An outbreak of psychoses after the 1918 influenza epidemic and the
 discovery that syphilis could cause dementia lent further credence to such
 theories. In 1922, the psychiatrist Karl Menninger hypothesized that

  confuse selection with mutation. Yes, natural selection can be taken into

Phones light up about alien amnesty bill

 Senate offices are being inundated with calls and letters from angry constituents
urging a vote against a measure granting amnesty to hundreds of thousands of
illegal aliens, aides say.
 Our offices have been flooded with calls here in Washington and in our Colorado
offices, said Sean Conway, spokesman for Republican Sen. Wayne Allard.
 There are a lot of folks that are upset and saying they are opposed to it. 
Clearly
it's been the issue du jour, which is surprising since campaign finance reform is up
for a final vote, Mr. Conway said.
 Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, Texas Republican, is receiving 50 to 100 calls a day
on the measure from constituents in her border state — all against it, her
spokeswoman said.
 It's not the same as impeachment, but it's above average for an issue, her
spokeswoman said.
 The office of Sen. Sam Brownback, Kansas Republican and supporter of the
border security bill, has only received 15 calls this week, most in opposition, a
spokesman said.
 In a press conference yesterday, Mr. Brownback said the Senate has the option
of passing one of two border security bills, one with and one without the amnesty
clause.
 America cannot wait for border security. We need a bill, either bill, to pass and
pass soon, Mr. Brownback said.
 Sen. Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat, has received several hundred calls,
the majority of which opposed the amnesty measure, said spokesman Howard
Gantman.
 A flood of calls came after the issue was highlighted on the Rush Limbaugh radio
show, Mr. Gantman said.
 Mrs. Feinstein is a sponsor of the border safety bill, and believes it has a 
better
chance of passage without the amnesty measure added by the House.
 It might slow the whole process down, and the border bill is urgently needed, 
Mr.
Gantman said.
 One East Coast Republican office has received more than 200 phone calls and
100 letters — all opposed — since the measure contained in a border security bill
passed the House last week by one vote. Phones are also ringing off the hook in a
Republican Senator's office from the Southwest.
 More than a dozen Senate offices representing different regions of the countries
were contacted by The Washington Times, but calls were only returned from
undecided members.
 Staffers examined the mail and phone messages and determined grass-roots
lobbying is being generated by individual constituents, as opposed to AstroTurf
lobbying being generated by paid lobbyists inside the Beltway.
 President Bush this week called on the Senate to pass the border security bill 
with
the amnesty measure, but it is being blocked by Sen. Robert C. Byrd, West Virginia
Democrat.
 He urges that it come up under normal procedure, be debated, and amended,
said Mr. Byrd's spokesman Tom Gavin.
 As a matter of policy, Mr. Gavin said, the office does not discuss constituent 
mail
or calls and would not relate what kind of support Mr. Byrd is receiving from his
constituents.
 The House passed the measure just hours after it was learned the Immigration
and Naturalization Service (INS) issued student visas for two of the terrorists who
attackd America on September 11.
 The amnesty measure would allow immigrants to pay $1,000 fees to stay in the
country while their residency applications are processed.
 Congress passing amendments at the same time the INS is demonstrating it is
incapable of issuing visas to the right people is what caused the phone banks to light
up on Capitol Hill, said David Rey, spokesman for the Federation for Immigration
Reform (FAIR).
 Democrats in support of the measure are also getting a smattering of calls, but
not nearly the volume of their Republican colleagues.
 The office of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, one of the bill's
sponsors, reported only 10 calls in the last couple of days — all from out of state and
against the measure.
 Sen. Larry E. Craig, Utah Republican, is also getting calls but the numbers are
not overwhelming at this point, said spokesman Mike Tracy.
 However, callers are split over the issue that can affect farm workers, a key
matter in Western states.
 We have people who don't want to see anyone in the country illegally to get
amnesty, but by the same token we have family members of farm workers here.
Senator Craig is really torn on this issue but not on the fact that INS procedures need
restructuring, Mr. Tracy said.

Move to take the sex out of ships sparks a mutiny

SEAFARERS everywhere were outraged yesterday by the news that ships are to be
unsexed.

In the mind of the mariner, his vessel is his mistress, and incontrovertibly feminine,
as she has been from ancient times. But Lloyd’s List, the 268-year-old London-based
daily shipping newspaper and bible of the mercantile world, has decided to drop the
gender andwill henceforth refer to a ship not as “she”, but “it”.

Julian Brady, the newspaper’s editor, said yesterday that ships were nothing more
than mercantile real estate. Calling an elegant cruise liner “she” was all very well, 
but
it could be offensive to apply the feminine pronoun to some rusting old hulk.

“We are a serious business paper for shipping. It may be a tradition to call ships
‘she’, but in standard journalistic practice ships should be referred to as ‘it’. The 
world
moves on,” Mr Brady said.

Naval and merchant seafarers were united in their objections. The Ministry of
Defence said: “Lloyd’s List can do what they want. The Royal Navy will continue to
call its ships ‘she’ as we have always done. It is historic and traditional.”

Britain’s two major fleet owners, PO and Cunard Line, were similarly adamant that
their vessels would remain thoroughly female. “Ships have personalities and souls;
we call them ‘she’ instinctively,” a spokesman for Cunard Line said.

Noel Coward understood the matter perfectly, as he did other issues of gender. In his
1942 classic wartime film In Which We Serve, Chief Petty Officer Bernard Miles
raises his glass: “I propose the health of one who’s very dear to me, a creature of
many moods and fancies. She’s very often uncertain, hard to please, but I’m devoted
to her with every fibre of my being.” At this point his wife, played by Joyce Carey,
looks up at him adoringly.

“Ladies and gentlemen, HMS Torrin,” Miles says, to her obvious disappointment.

Celia Johnson, the captain’s wife in the same epic, describes the ship as her enemy
because it dominates the affections of her husband. “It holds first place in his head; 
it
comes before wife, home, children, everything,” she says with despair, but with the
understanding of a sailor’s wife.

Ships have been “she” at least since Roman times, and most inflected languages
have “ship” as a feminine noun: navis in Latin, nave in Italian,and safina in Arabic.

Perversely, the French regard bâteau as masculine, and the Germans go their own
way with Das Schiff as a neuter noun.

Pieter van der Merwe, of the National Maritime Museum, said that there was no
general agreement as to why ships had assumed the feminine gender. “It may be
because they were once dedicated to goddesses whose figure was carved on the
bow to protect against storms,” he said, “or it may be because ships, like women, are
expensive and difficult to handle. The history of the matter is much obscured by
male-chauvinist jokery.”

Alternative theories suggest that the ship became feminine because it was the only
woman allowed at sea, and was treated with deference and respect; others say that
mariners spending a long time at sea came to regard the ship as their mother.

Mr van der Merwe said that the National Maritime Museum would continue to regard
ships as feminine, if only because of tradition. He said: “Once you start dismantling
the linguistic element, you start dismantling the culture. These traditions have long
antiquity, and should be preserved.”

The unsexing of ships was also resisted yesterday by the British Marine Industries
Federation, which organises the International Boat Show in London and
Southampton. The organisation said that it regarded the Lloyd’s List decision as an
example of a creeping and unwelcome political correctness.

A spokesman said: “It’s like hurricanes. They always used to have female names,
now they have male and female. And now it’s boats. Our owners will continue to refer
to their boats as ‘she’ because they are part of the family.”

Women, on the other hand, may agree with Coward; “she” is more a mistress than a
wife.

Leaked gov't report exposes Israeli spy ring

In the gray, matter-of-fact bureaucratese so typical of a government document, the
leaked Israeli Art Student Papers – posted on Antiwar.com yesterday – confirm
what we have been saying in this space all along: that an underground apparatus of
Israeli covert agents, centered in the southwestern US but extending nationwide,
carried out extensive operations in the months prior to 9/11. Their targets were US
government offices, including not only the Drug Enforcement Administration (as
previously reported), but the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Federal
Protective Service, the Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF), the
Federal Bureau of Investigation, and a host of state and federal courthouses and
other buildings, as well as military bases. There is no longer any doubt about whether
the spy ring existed. Now we are left with the nagging question: what was its
purpose?

UP TO NO GOOD

The leaked document – provided to us by the heroic John Sugg, of Creative Loafing
(Atlanta) and the Weekly Planet (Tampa) -- describes in excruciating detail the
doggedly persistent efforts of Israelis claiming to be art students to get into the
offices and even the homes of federal law enforcement agents and government
officials. In this 60-odd page report, incident is piled on incident until, at a 
certain
point, even the most mentally challenged reader -- even one who wants to give the
Israelis the benefit of every doubt -- is forced to conclude that our friends, the
Israelis, were up to no good: and, perhaps, far worse than that….

AN OVERVIEW

We are given, first, a broad overview of this covert operation, where the reader
learns about:

The timeframe: these Israeli covert ops have been going on, we are told, since at
least the beginning of 2000, right up until the weeks before 9/11.
The geography: the operation extended from California to Florida, and, although
concentrated in the southwest and Florida, included at least 40 states. According to
the report:

The Hollywood, Florida, area seems to be a central point for these individuals, with
several having addresses in this area.

The personnel: a majority of Israeli agents intercepted and interrogated by US law
enforcement agencies, including but not limited to the DEA, the INS, and the FBI,
served in intelligence, electronic intercept, and explosive ordnance units of the 
Israeli
army.

SECURITY ALERT!

DEA Internal Security became aware of a systematic effort to bypass security at their
various offices in January of 2001, and the next month an official Security Alert was
issued, instructing agents to watch for and detain these art students as they tried 
to
talk their way into the offices and homes of DEA personnel. Just how these
students found the home addresses of a large number of government employees is
what apparently shocked somnolent federal agencies into action.

THIS IS A RAID

By the end of March, 2001, several law enforcement agencies were on the lookout
for these students of Israeli art, and 13 were busted in Irving, Texas, on
immigration charges, and detained. The detainees were interrogated, revealing that
the two principals of the operation were Itay Simon and Michael Calmanovic (pp. 12-
13, paragraphs 39-41). The former was identified as in charge of the overall
operation by an unidentified Israeli, while the latter was tagged as the leader of the
Texas operation. Calmanovic had rented a number of apartments at two apartment
complexes, and the landlady at one of them said that the approximately 25 Israelis in
five different apartments had hurriedly abandoned the place right after the first 13
were busted.

HIDDEN RIDGE

Calmanovic and Simon were tracked down to another apartment complex, Hidden
Ridge Apartments, also in Irving, where they were interrupted in the process of
making their escape (p. 15, paragraph 49). Simon told his interrogators that he did
‘classified work for the Israeli army.’ According to the report, Simon refused to
answer questions about his military service As for Calmanovic, he stated that he
was a recently discharged electronic intercept operator for the Israeli military (p. 
15,
paragraph 50).

THE AMDOCS CONNECTION

Both were arrested on immigration charges, and held on $50,000 bond. This bond
was immediately posted, the report says, but we are not told by whom. In another
case of arrested art students of the Israeli persuasion, we are told who posted bail:
one Ophir Baer, an employee of AMDOCS (p. 13, paragraph 42), an Israeli-based
company that has a virtual monopoly on phone-billing in the US, and is mentioned
prominently both by Carl Cameron of Fox News and Paul Rodriguez of Insight
magazine in their respective exposés of Israeli penetration of US communications

Gun control advocate may have violated gun laws

WASHINGTON - Gun-control advocate Sarah Brady bought her son a powerful rifle
for Christmas in 2000 - and may have skirted Delaware state background-check
requirements, the New York Daily News has learned.

Brady reveals in a new memoir that she bought James Brady Jr. a Remington .30-
06, complete with scope and safety lock, at a Lewes, Del., gun shop.

I can't describe how I felt when I picked up that rifle, loaded it into my little car 
and
drove home, she writes. It seemed so incredibly strange: Sarah Brady, of all
people, packing heat.

Brady became a household name as a crusader for stricter gun-control laws after her
husband, James, then the White House press secretary, was seriously wounded in a
1981 assassination attempt on then-President Ronald Reagan.

Brady writes in A Good Fight that the unnamed gun shop ran federal Brady Law
and Delaware state background checks with great fanfare.

The book suggests that she did not have her son checked, as required by Delaware
state law.

(W)hen the owner called in the checks, it seemed to me he spoke unnecessarily
loudly, repeating and spelling my name over and over on the phone, Brady writes.

Amy Stillwell, a spokeswoman for The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence,
said the federal Brady Law does not require background checks for intrafamily gun
gifts.

Stillwell said she did not know whether her son was checked under the state law.
The Delaware Department of Justice says the state does not have an exemption for
family gifts.

Scott is not a convicted felon, and he is not prohibited from owning a gun, Stillwell
said. Scott Brady could walk into a store and buy a - he is not a prohibited
purchaser.

Delaware Justice Department spokeswoman Lori Sitler said the purchase could be
illegal under state law if Brady did not also say who she was buying the gun for and
submit his name, rank and serial number for a full check.

You can't purchase a gun for someone else, Sitler said yesterday. That would be a
'straw purchase.' You've got a problem right there.

Anti-gun control advocates were surprised to hear of Brady's foray into their world.

We hope that it's innocuous and there's been no laws violated, said James Jay
Baker, chief lobbyist for the National Rifle Association. It's obviously interesting 
that
Sarah would be purchasing firearms of any kind for anybody, given her championing
of restrictive guns laws for everyone.

There is much that we can all learn about the
contemporary condition of U.S. politics by reading
what is on Zionist news web sites both in Israel and
in America. Here in Alta California, the Jewish
Journal of Greater Los Angeles provides an
outstanding source for the understanding of the
Jewish mind and for understanding their ongoing
political programme that perpetuates their total
domination of state government.

On March 12, 2002 the Jewish Journal published a very
revealing article by columnist Joel Kotkin titled,
The First Jewish Governor. It was referring to
California Governor Gray Davis who is presently the
Democratic Party candidate for re-election. Mr.
Kotkin begins his article thusly, For years he has
been a presence in the Jewish community, listening,
cajoling and, more than anything else, raising money.
And today he is on the verge not only of winning
re-election to the governor’s mansion, but the
beginnings of a political drive whose ultimate aim is
the White House. Kotkin continues, No, Gray Davis
is not an Anglo marrano, a hidden, closeted Jew. He
is, on paper, a Catholic, but his political career
has been shaped, and largely financed — as much as
any statewide politician including our two Jewish
women senators — by the Los Angeles Jewish community.

The governor's recent speeches, political decisions
and the political appointments he has made have
recently shocked the non-Jewish population of Alta
California which comprises about 98% of the total.
Governor Davis has been acting more and more like an
automaton and as if he is being controlled remotely
by an unseen influence. This may sound strange but it
is true. Californians who follow the state's
political affairs have noticed his increasingly
bizarre behavior and are wondering who is pulling his
strings.

In 1962 a film, The Manchurian Candidate was
produced and released but suppressed for 25 years.
The principal theme of the film was the political
mind control of an American soldier who was
captured during the Korean War. The Manchurian
Candidate was brainwashed and then re-programed to
follow the orders of an enemy human controller. The
plan was to release the programmed war hero into
American society and than order him to assassinate a
political leader through subtle commands by the human
controller. The film, released during the heyday of
the Cold War, opened many questions about the power
of brainwashing and about the potential for
psychiatrists to abuse the techniques of mind control
through the use of drugs, sex, money and coercion.
There has been much, and as of yet unresolved, debate
whether Lee Harvey Oswald and Sirhan Sirhan were
mentally programmed to assassinate the Kennedy
brothers.

Psychiatric science and brain research has advanced
significantly since 1962. Today, both the CIA and the
MOSSAD intelligence services have extremely
sophisticated and advanced mind control techniques.
It would not be a stretch of the imagination to
envision a situation where some of our elected
government representatives may actually be brain
programmed and under the mind control of powerful
economic interests. Certainly, the recent political
behavior of Governor Gray Davis points to this
possibility.

Joel Kotkin writes in the Jewish Journal that,
Carmen Warshaw, the former Democratic national
committeewoman for California and major donor to
Jewish causes, claims she first singled out the lean
ambitious young man more than three decades ago. From
the beginning, she could see two overwhelming
characteristics that define Davis to this day — a
driving, cold-blooded ambition and the calculating
smarts to achieve it. Jewess Carmen Warshaw, in
other words saw Gray Davis as the perfect Manjewrian
Candidate.

Kotkin's article suggests that Davis was a perfect
candidate because of his love for Jewish money. Joel
Kotkin writes, The Jewish community, Warshaw
suggests, represented the primary vehicle for Davis’
strategy. His only interest was money, she recalls.
He played golf all the time at Hillcrest. You saw
him all the time. He was known as the man who came to
cocktails and didn’t stay for dinner. Kotkin
continues writing , Gray went to more bar mitzvahs
and weddings than most rabbis, recalls this aide.
He didn’t do it because he was Jewish — he isn’t —

If President Carter is correct on this, the power of the Israeli leaders
will forever try to thwart a peace settlement. But the question of
Palestinian sovereignty can be disassociated from the question of a peace
settlement. The UN, including the US, is willing to recognize Palestine
which, I take it, means a seat in the General Assembly. Can Palestine get
a seat now? If so, that would give it the power to speak more forcefully.

Tentative 1967 borders could be marked on a map for the new and sovereign
Palestine if the final borders are not yet known. That becomes the map of
Palestine for the new UN member. What Palestine can then say in the UN is
that there is nothing to stop Israel from pulling its mighty army back to
that border. Its power is so great that not even an ant will be able to
cross un-noticed. How then, can Palestinian kamikaze forces cross the
border or get supplies? If that won't stop Palestinian attacks on Israel
totally, it will come very close. So Palestine at the UN can prove its
case that peace and an end to attacks on Israel is in the hands of the
Israelis.

The withdrawal of Israeli forces then becomes a UN problem as is the
question of governorship of the 1948-designated international city of
Jerusalem.

ATLANTA, March 21 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said on
Thursday that peace could not be achieved in the Middle East until Israel
agreed in principle to withdraw from lands occupied since 1967 in return for
a normalization of relations with Arab states.

But Carter, who shepherded the landmark 1979 Camp David peace accord between
Israel and Egypt, said he doubted Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon would
ever agree to such a deal, proposed most recently by Saudi Arabia.

I don't think he has any desire to see a peace agreement worked out with the
Palestinians which might include a withdrawal of Israeli settlements from the
occupied territories, Carter said during a luncheon celebrating the 20th
anniversary of his Atlanta-based Carter Center.

Carter, president from 1977 to 1981, said he was convinced average
Palestinians and Israelis wanted to end the violence that has claimed the
lives of at least 1,086 Palestinians and 355 Israelis since 2000.

The obstacles are the politicians and the political leaders, Carter said.

The former U.S. president's comments came shortly after a Palestinian suicide
bomber blew himself up in a busy shopping street in Jerusalem, killing two
Israelis and prompting Israel to shelve U.S.-led cease-fire

talks.

U.S. officials had hoped the talks, arranged by special envoy Anthony Zinni,
would lay the groundwork for a truce in the 17-month Palestinian uprising
against Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

A recently declassified U.S. Navy report entitled Naval Operations in an Ice-Free Arctic makes astonishing predictions about the once virtually impenetrable northern ocean: regular commercial shipping could occur in the Northwest Passage by the summer of 2015, and the summer ice cover could disappear entirely from polar waters by 2050. Irrespective of whether this drastic change is a consequence of global warming, as some suppose, or some other cause, the development should be of interest to the federal government.

Evidence that the Arctic ice pack is thinning has been available for years. One study, based on ice measurements from U.S. submarine data, calculated that the ice had thinned by 1.3 meters, or 40%, since 1953. From 1970, the ice cover has been shrinking by about 3% per decade. It is such findings that have alerted the U.S. Navy to the need to prepare for a new navigable ocean.

Naval Operations in an Ice-Free Arctic was the result of a symposium, hosted last year by the U.S. Navy, which included U.S., Canadian and British Arctic and naval experts. It has produced, among other things, a recognition that even the U.S. navy, the world's most powerful, does not have the ships, training, communications capability or logistics necessary to police an open polar sea properly. U.S. defence officials have stressed that measures need to be taken now to "ensure system, tactical and policy concerns are addressed."

If this is the case for the United States, which has sovereignty over an Arctic coastline of only 1,696 kilometres, imagine the scope of the challenge facing the Canadian government, with responsibility for a mainland northern coastline of 25,000 km. Traditionally, Canada has been content, to borrow a line from our history, to "sleep by the frozen sea." The government has relied on harrowing historical accounts of the impenetrable passage, and its severely limited fleet of Arctic-class icebreakers, to enforce sovereignty in its northern waters.

With the disappearance of the ice cover, the Arctic will open to surface naval operations by foreign powers, to commercial fishing vessels, as well as to smugglers and, potentially, terrorists. The federal government needs to begin planning for such an eventuality. The Northwest Passage, which eluded explorers for centuries, has proven to be neither chimerical nor theoretical after all.

Leaked gov't report exposes Israeli spy ring

In the gray, matter-of-fact bureaucratese so typical of a government document, the leaked "Israeli Art Student Papers" – posted on Antiwar.com yesterday – confirm what we have been saying in this space all along: that an underground apparatus of Israeli covert agents, centered in the southwestern US but extending nationwide, carried out extensive operations in the months prior to 9/11. Their targets were US government offices, including not only the Drug Enforcement Administration (as previously reported), but the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Federal Protective Service, the Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and a host of state and federal courthouses and other buildings, as well as military bases. There is no longer any doubt about whether the spy ring existed. Now we are left with the nagging question: what was its purpose?

UP TO NO GOOD

The leaked document – provided to us by the heroic John Sugg, of Creative Loafing (Atlanta) and the Weekly Planet (Tampa) -- describes in excruciating detail the doggedly persistent efforts of Israelis claiming to be "art students" to get into the offices and even the homes of federal law enforcement agents and government officials. In this 60-odd page report, incident is piled on incident until, at a certain point, even the most mentally challenged reader -- even one who wants to give the Israelis the benefit of every doubt -- is forced to conclude that our friends, the Israelis, were up to no good: and, perhaps, far worse than that….

AN OVERVIEW

We are given, first, a broad overview of this covert operation, where the reader learns about:

-The timeframe: these Israeli covert ops have been going on, we are told, "since at least the beginning of 2000," right up until the weeks before 9/11. 

-The geography: the operation extended from California to Florida, and, although concentrated in the southwest and Florida, included at least 40 states. According to the report: 

"The Hollywood, Florida, area seems to be a central point for these individuals, with several having addresses in this area."

The personnel: a majority of Israeli agents intercepted and interrogated by US law enforcement agencies, including but not limited to the DEA, the INS, and the FBI, served in intelligence, electronic intercept, and explosive ordnance units of the Israeli army. 

SECURITY ALERT!

DEA Internal Security became aware of a systematic effort to bypass security at their various offices in January of 2001, and the next month an official Security Alert was issued, instructing agents to watch for and detain these "art students" as they tried to talk their way into the offices and homes of DEA personnel. Just how these "students" found the home addresses of a large number of government employees is what apparently shocked somnolent federal agencies into action.

THIS IS A RAID

By the end of March, 2001, several law enforcement agencies were on the lookout for these students of Israeli "art," and 13 were busted in Irving, Texas, on immigration charges, and detained. The detainees were interrogated, revealing that the two principals of the operation were Itay Simon and Michael Calmanovic (pp. 12-13, paragraphs 39-41). The former was identified as in charge of the overall operation by an unidentified Israeli, while the latter was tagged as the leader of the Texas operation. Calmanovic had rented a number of apartments at two apartment complexes, and the landlady at one of them said that the approximately 25 Israelis in five different apartments had hurriedly abandoned the place right after the first 13 were busted.

HIDDEN RIDGE

Calmanovic and Simon were tracked down to another apartment complex, Hidden Ridge Apartments, also in Irving, where they were interrupted in the process of making their escape (p. 15, paragraph 49). Simon told his interrogators that he "did ‘classified work for the Israeli army.’" According to the report, "Simon refused to answer questions about his military service" As for Calmanovic, he stated that he was a recently discharged "electronic intercept operator for the Israeli military" (p. 15, paragraph 50). 

THE AMDOCS CONNECTION

Both were arrested on immigration charges, and held on $50,000 bond. "This bond was immediately posted," the report says, but we are not told by whom. In another case of arrested "art students" of the Israeli persuasion, we are told who posted bail: one Ophir Baer, an employee of AMDOCS (p. 13, paragraph 42), an Israeli-based company that has a virtual monopoly on phone-billing in the US, and is mentioned prominently both by Carl Cameron of Fox News and Paul Rodriguez of Insight magazine in their respective exposés of Israeli penetration of US communications systems. The octopus, once rattled, began to surface….

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) Israelis with military or security experience seem to have the inside track with U.S. corporations and government agencies looking for anti-terrorism expertise. 

Boston's Logan Airport which came under heavy criticism because it was the departure point for the jetliners that brought down the World Trade Center hired a former security director for Israel's El Al Airlines in October. 

In New Jersey, where authorities were faulted for poor intelligence operations after it was learned that several suspected terrorists lived and worked in the state, Gov. James E. McGreevey recently appointed an Israeli as his special counsel on homeland security. 

Golan Cipel, a 33-year-old former campaign aide, had five years in Israel's navy and in its reserve. He resigned after weeks of complaints that his experience was inadequate and that his foreign citizenship prevented him from getting U.S. security clearances. 

Still, his hiring underscored just how highly prized Israeli military experience is. 

In addition, security consulting companies formed by Israelis are aggressively marketing their anti-terrorism services to corporations and other U.S. clients. And the Israeli consulate in New York held a trade show last month to promote Israeli security businesses to U.S. customers. 

Experts say Israelis with military or security backgrounds provide an attractive combination of experience and mystique. 

''When the Israelis faced more than 30 years ago the various security problems, they started to build up an infrastructure to respond to such threats,'' said Israel Boim, who founded a consulting company, Air Security International in Houston, in 1989 after a career with Shin Bet. ''From every terror attack they improved their system. What makes Israelis so attractive is now everyone can use their experience.'' 

Isaac Levy, former director of security for El Al, said: ''We know their habits. We know their trends. We know how they attack and we understand the way of thinking of the radicals and the extremists.'' 

After Sept. 11, Levy joined a security consulting business founded by a former commissioner of the Israeli police. The company said it has been hired to provide training for building managers and security officers at scores of office buildings and apartment houses in New York and other cities. 

Military officers in Israel perform a combination of duties that in the United States get performed in pieces by the FBI, the Secret Service and local police, said Harvey Kushner, chairman of the criminal justice and security administration department at Long Island University. 

Still, Boim warned that what is successful in the Middle East is not guaranteed to work here. He noted that Israeli security agents are trained in practices such as profiling that are problematic under U.S. law.

Bush Acts to Drop Core Privacy Rule on Medical Data

WASHINGTON, March 21  The Bush administration today proposed dropping a requirement at the heart of federal rules that protect the privacy of medical records. It said doctors and hospitals should not have to obtain consent from patients before using or disclosing medical information for the purpose of treatment or reimbursement.

The proposal, favored by the health care industry, was announced by Tommy G. Thompson, the secretary of health and human services, who said the process of obtaining consent could have serious unintended consequences and could impair access to quality health care.

The sweeping privacy rules were issued by President Bill Clinton in December 2000. When Mr. Bush allowed them to take effect last April, consumer advocates cheered, while much of the health care industry expressed dismay.

Today's proposal would repeal a provision widely viewed as the core of the Clinton rules: a requirement that doctors, hospitals and other health care providers obtain written consent from patients before using or disclosing medical information for treatment, the payment of claims or any of a long list of health care operations, like setting insurance premiums and measuring the competence of doctors.

The proposal is to be published in the Federal Register next week, with 30 days for public comment. The government will consider the comments and then issue a final rule, with the force of law.

Secretary Thompson said he wanted to remove the consent requirements because he believed they could delay care.

Pharmacists and hospitals had expressed the same concern. Drugstores said they could not fill prescriptions phoned in by a doctor for pick-up by a patient's relative or neighbor. Hospitals said they could not schedule medical procedures until the patient had read a privacy notice and signed a consent form.

Hospitals and insurance companies praised today's proposal as a victory for common sense, but consumer advocates and Democratic members of Congress denounced it as a threat to privacy.

In general, this is great for the health care industry, said Elisabeth Belmont, corporate counsel for Maine Health, which operates seven hospitals, a nursing home and a home health agency in Maine. Mary R. Grealy, president of the Health Care Leadership Council, which represents drug makers, drugstores, insurers and hospitals, said: The new proposal strikes an appropriate balance. It's a workable compromise.

But Janlori Goldman, coordinator of the Consumer Coalition for Health Privacy, an alliance of more than 100 groups favoring patients' rights, said the administration was proposing a destructive change.

Representative Edward J. Markey, Democrat of Massachusetts, said: By stripping the consent requirement from the health privacy rule, the Bush administration strips patients of the fundamental right to give their consent before their health information is used or disclosed. The administration's proposal throws the baby away with the bath water. 

Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Democrat of Massachusetts, said he was very concerned because he believed that an individual should have to give permission before medical information is disclosed.

The Bush administration denied that it was eviscerating privacy protections. The president believes strongly in the need for federal protections to ensure patient privacy, and the changes we are proposing today will allow us to deliver strong protections for personal medical information while improving access to care, Mr. Thompson said. 

Under the rules, doctors and other health care providers would still have to notify patients of their rights and the providers' disclosure policies. Patients would be asked to acknowledge in writing that they had received such notice, but could receive care without the acknowledgment. 

Ms. Goldman, director of the Health Privacy Project at Georgetown University, said: It's absurd to suggest that a notice serves the same purpose as consent. Signing the consent makes it more likely that people will understand their rights.

Some parts of the Clinton rules would survive the changes proposed by the Bush administration. Patients would, for example, have a federal right to inspect and copy their records and could propose corrections.

Congress could try to set privacy standards by law, overriding decisions by the Bush administration. But that appears unlikely. Under a 1996 law, Congress instructed the secretary of health and human services to issue rules on medical privacy in the absence of action by Congress, and lawmakers have never been able to agree on standards.

Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Deputy Director CIA, Military advisor to President Reagan, was with the American Security Council and publicly endorses the Moon owned Washington Times. Also a member of the Moon organization World Anti-Communist League, and board of Directors for Rev. Moon's CAUSA. He founded the U.S. Council of World Freedom, which is a breeding ground for the leadership of Moon's World Anti-Communist League.(4) He was Also associated with the group "Western Goals," a domestic intelligence gathering organization, which was also associated with Ollie North and the Iran/Contra debacle.(8) Graham is a member of the American Freedom Coalition, which was also a Moon Funded group with many evangelicals such as Don Sills and Tim LaHaye. General Graham was Vice Chairman for the U.S. Council for World Freedom, which also is closely related to Moon's CAUSA. A member of the Council of 56, Religious Roundtable, and Board Member to Tim LaHaye's Council of National Policy.(4,5)

Allan Gottlieb
Board Member of Moon's front group, the American Freedom Coalition. In 1983 the Moon group CAUSA, founded by Bo Hi Pak, former Korean CIA and liaison to the American CIA, and Moon's #1 man, granted Gottleib an all expense paid trip to Jamaica for a CAUSA conference, and he was thereafter associated with CAUSA. Gottlieb was also with the American Conservative Union, and was a CNP Member, and LaHaye/evangelical crony.

J. Peter Grace
Council of Foreign Relations (a breeding ground for the Bilderbergers, actively seeking to bring in the NWO), Knights of Malta (8), and worked with the CIA to remove classified info concerning former Nazi scientists so that they could immigrate into the U.S., in order to carry on their work (including mind control projects) in the United States. He is listed as a past board member of AmeriCares, a U.S. intelligence filled and evangelical associated group that flew many times into Central America when North was smuggling guns and drugs in and out of Nicaragua and Honduras, it has been alleged that AmeriCares was just one of the air services involved (9, 10, 11, 12). It is also alleged that Pat Robertson's "Operation Blessing" flew at times into Central America in association with Graces' AmeriCares (13). Grace, as well as many others listed here, were associated with the group "Western Goals", which among other things, gathered intelligence against U.S. citizens and was instrumental to the CIA(4, 7, 8). Grace is also listed as being with Tim LaHaye's CNP(5)

Air Commando Association 
Members of the ACA have included the following retired military special forces personnel: Major General John Singlaub, MajorGeneral Sam Wilson, Lt. General Manor, Major General Jim Ahmann, William Keeler, and Major General Richard Secord.   

Most members of the ACA were involved in covert operations in Laos, Cambodia, and South Vietnam, including Aderholt who served as Chief of Covert Air operations in Southeast Asia under General John Singlaub. (1, 2)   

Funding for the ACA comes primarily from member donations.(3) The supplies and equipment the group delivers are donated by other organizations such as World Medical Relief and Operation Blessing of the Christian Broadcasting Network. (4)   
In 1984 the ACA began to deliver supplies in El Salvador. Irene Auberlin, the founder and chairman of World Medical Relief (WMR), pledged $20 million of WMR supplies for ACA's relief work in El Salvador. (1) According to author Russ Bellant, over the past 30 years WMR has provided over $100 million in supplies to CIA-directed counter-insurgency programs. (5)
The Michigan Air Guard packed up supplies, the Air Force provided storage facilities, and Special Operations Air Force personnel helped transport several tons of supplies to Guatemala for ACA. (1) The U.S. embassy in Guatemala provided ACA with a postal box, and according to one ACA member, "watched over" the group. (4) The operations of the ACA and other paramilitary groups operating in Central America reportedly coordinated their efforts through Oliver North on the National Security Council.(6)

AmeriCares is a high profile organization. Often a prominent political figure in the 1980s, frequently a member of the Bush family, was on board to deliver the shipment, and the U.S. ambassador to the recipient nation was at the airport to receive the delivery. (2) Of course Bush Sr. was a leader of the Council of Foreign Relations, working toward bringing in the NWO under the guise of a mild mannered Christian. He was also the ex-director of the CIA, and who better to trust than his family to oversee his and their agenda? The activities of AmeriCares appear to echo U.S. foreign policy, so much so that investigative reporter Russ Baker wrote that "AmeriCares resembles a private foreign-policy operation of the U.S. government."(2)   

The organization received significant contributions from the Moon founded Nicaraguan Freedom Fund (NFF) during its brief existence. Hal Eberle, a board member of the NFF, was quoted in the New York Times as saying the Nicaraguan Freedom Fund contributed $300,000 to Americares. (3, 4) The Nicaraguan Freedom Fund's 990 tax return shows the contribution to AmeriCares to be $165,648.   

In l985 and l986, AmeriCares shipped more than $l00,000 worth of "newsprint" to the opposition daily, La Prensa, in Managua, Nicaragua. This included delivery of 200 tons of newsprint to the newspaper in l986. (5, 6) Of course we can see the need to send a member of the Bush family, and involve the U.S. Diplomat delivering such volatile material as "newsprint". It is no wonder that this was seen as a national security matter.   

The Knights of Malta handled the local arrangements in Nicaragua. (7) It's l985 tax return indicated that AmeriCares delivered $73,136 worth of food and medical supplies to La Prensa, but Jim Schaffer, a former official in the organization, says that only newsprint was sent. (6) An attempted shipment of another l5 tons of "newsprint" from AmeriCares to La Prensa in April l988 was blocked by the Sandinista government which accused AmeriCares of being a CIA front and part of the secret network of private groups used by Lt. Col. Oliver North to deliver aid to the Contras. (5) The Sandinista claim they received corroboration from the organization's own tax records which indicate that AmeriCares is financially linked to a number of other individuals and organizations that supplied the Contras or were working with the CIA in Central America. US vice-President Dick Cheney reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon that the U.S. was planning to attack Iraq 'first and foremost for Israel's sake.'  According to Israeli sources quoted by Israeli state-run radio  Wednesday, Cheney asked Sharon to 'tone down' the confrontation with the Palestinians so as not to disrupt or disturb American plans vis-a-vis Iraq. 
 
The sources quoted Cheney as saying that he expected President Bush to  decide to attack Iraq in spite of widespread opposition in the Arab world. Sharon said publicly Tuesday that Israel would bless whole- heartedly any American attack on Iraq, telling Cheney that the US 'can always count on us.' 
  
Israeli press reported this week that Sharon was hoping that a decisive American onslaught against Iraq would demoralize the Palestinians and  force them to concede defeat and put an end to the intifada. 
However, Cheney and Sharon reportedly agreed to keep coordination and cooperation on Iraq behind the curtain in order not to embarrass pro-American puppet Arab regimes. 
  
Cheney arrived in Ankara Tuesday on an 11-nation visit to the Middle  East and Britain that many have said was aimed at drumming up support for a possible campaign to overthrow President Saddam. Turkish leaders have repeatedly voiced opposition to any action against their southern neighbor. 
  
'There is no question of any military action against Iraq in the foreseeable future,' Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit told reporters after meeting with Cheney.  Ankara, the Turkish capital, was the last stop on Cheney's tour. Cheney said in occupied Jerusalem earlier Tuesday that no decision had yet been made on whether to attack Iraq. 
  
Turkish police tightened security in downtown Ankara hours before Cheney's arrival and detained 80 people for lack of proper identification, the Anatolia news agency reported. A few hundred people from trade 
unions and small left-wing parties protested Cheney's visit, shouting anti-US slogans. 
  
Local reports said the Turkish leaders would tell Cheney that Turkey would not contribute any troops to a possible US campaign against Iraq. However, Turkey would discuss providing logistical support, such as the use of its air bases, the reports said. Turkey, a close US and Israeli ally, has strongly supported 
Washington's anti-terror campaign in Afghanistan. 
  
Turkey was a staging point for US attacks during the Gulf War and US planes are already based in Turkey's southern Incirlik air base from which they patrol a no-fly zone over northern Iraq. But Turkey fears that a war in Iraq could further destabilise the region, devastate its fragile economy, and lead to the creation of a separate Kurdish state in northern Iraq that could in turn encourage similar ambitions among Turkey's 12 million Kurds. 
  
Iraqi Kurdish leader Jalal Talabani also arrived in Ankara for talks Tuesday. Talabani was not expected to meet with Cheney, but in a previous visit the Kurdish leader said he opposed  US intervention in Iraq.

 It was one of those sickening moments when an illusion is shattered and an
 ominous reality laid bare. I was among a group of Jews and Christians who
 met recently to discuss the Churches' increasing public hostility to Israel.
 The Jews were braced for a difficult encounter. After all, many British Jews
 (of whom I am one) are themselves appalled by the destruction of Palestinian
 villages, targeted assassinations and other apparent Israeli overreactions
 to the Middle East conflict.

 But this debate never took place. For the Christians said that the Churches'
 hostility had nothing to do with Israel's behaviour towards the
 Palestinians. This was merely an excuse. The real reason for the growing
 antipathy, according to the Christians at that meeting, was the ancient
 hatred of Jews rooted deep in Christian theology and now on widespread
 display once again.

 A doctrine going back to the early Church fathers, suppressed after the
 Holocaust, had been revived under the influence of the Middle East conflict.
 This doctrine is called replacement theology. In essence, it says that the
 Jews have been replaced by the Christians in God's favour, and so all God's
 promises to the Jews, including the land of Israel, have been inherited by
 Christianity.

 Some evangelicals, by contrast, are 'Christian Zionists' who passionately
 support the state of Israel as the fulfilment of God's Biblical promise to
 the Jews. But to the majority who have absorbed replacement theology,
 Zionism is racism and the Jewish state is illegitimate.

 The Jews at the meeting were incredulous and aghast. Surely the Christians
 were exaggerating. Surely the Churches' dislike of Israel was rooted instead
 in the settlements, the occupied territories and Prime Minister Ariel
 Sharon. But the Christians were adamant. The hostility to Israel within the
 Church is rooted in a dislike of the Jews.

 Church newspaper editors say that they are intimidated by the overwhelming
 hostility to Israel and to the Jews from influential Christian figures,
 which makes balanced coverage of the Middle East impossible. Clerics and lay
 people alike are saying openly that Israel should never have been founded at
 all. One Church source said that what he was hearing was a 'throwback to the
 visceral anti-Judaism of the Middle Ages'.

 At this juncture, a distinction is crucial. Criticism of Israel's behaviour
 is perfectly legitimate. But a number of prominent Christians agree that a
 line is being crossed into anti-Jewish hatred. This is manifested by
 ascribing to every Israeli action malevolent motives, while dismissing
 Palestinian terrorism and anti-Jewish diatribes; by the belief that Jews
 should be denied the right to self-determination and their state dismantled;
 by the conflation of Zionism and a 'Jewish conspiracy' of vested interests;
 and by the disproportionate venom of the attacks.

 'When I hear the Jews used as a term, my blood runs cold - and I've been
 hearing this far too often,' says Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Wales
 and a contender for the see of Canterbury. 'Whenever I print anything
 sympathetic to Israel, I get deluged with complaints that I am Zionist and
 racist,' says Colin Blakely, the editor of the Church of England Newspaper.

 Andrew White, canon of Coventry cathedral and the Archbishop of Canterbury's
 representative in the Middle East, is heavily engaged in trying to promote
 dialogue and peace between Israelis and Palestinians. He says of attitudes
 in the Church, 'These go beyond legitimate criticism of Israel into hatred
 of the Jews. I get hate mail calling me a Jew-lover and saying my work is
 evil.'

 The reason, he says, is that Palestinian Christian revisionism has revived
 replacement theology. 'This doctrine was key in fanning the flames of the
 Holocaust, which could not have happened without 2,000 years of anti-Jewish
 polemic,' he says. After the Holocaust the Vatican officially buried the
 doctrine, the current Pope affirming the integrity of the Jewish people and
 recognising the state of Israel. But, according to Andrew White, the
 doctrine is 'still vibrant' within Roman Catholic and Anglican pews. 'Almost
 all the Churches hold to replacement theology,' he says.

 The catalyst for its re-emergence has been the attempt by Arab Christians to
 reinterpret Scripture in order to delegitimise the Jews' claim to the land

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (CBS.MW) -- Maryland Public Broadcasting
announced plans to replace its long-running Wall Street Week
with Louis Rukeyser program with a show co-produced with
Fortune magazine.

The new show will be called Wall Street Week with Fortune.

Rukeyser, 69, has hosted the Friday night show since 1970.
His contract expires at the end of June.

Rukeyser told CBS.MarketWatch.com he was blindsided on
Wednesday by Maryland Public Television, producer of the
show. He was told of changes it wanted to make to the
program, and was offered the role of senior commentator.
I just decided I didn't want to work with these people,
Rukeyser said.

Regarding his future plans, Rukeyser said something big is
going to be announced very shortly, but he declined to
elaborate.

For its part, Maryland Public Television is still saying it
would prefer to have the venerable host back. We would
like him to remain in a new role in the new format, and there
has been discussion of that, MPT spokesman Jeff Hankin
said. Obviously we're very appreciative of what he has done
for the show over the years, and his role as an icon in
finance and television.

The program, to debut next fall, will be co-hosted by Geoffrey
Colvin, Fortune's editorial director.

Colvin appears on the CBS Radio Network, and has also
been a guest on Today, Good Morning America, CBS
This Morning, and many other programs. (Viacom, parent
of CBS, also owns a significant stake in MarketWatch.com,
the publisher of this report.)

The format of the new show is still being developed.
Changes will include a newly designed set and an up-to-date
graphics package.

In what we've heard from stations in the public television
system, from viewers, and from members, it has become
pretty clear to us that the show needs to be reinvented,
Hankin said.

While Maryland Public Television does not want to alienate
the show's existing audience, it is hoped that a new format
will have strong appeal for baby boomers who are closing in
on retirement, as well as younger viewers.

It's very risky, said Marc Berman, a New York-based
programming consultant. If you think of that show, you think
of [Rukeyser] ... I also think it's risky because PBS is older
skewing. The 50-plus audience is basically who watches
PBS. And if they think they're going to freshen up a show
and bring in some younger faces, it could backfire.

The deal raises the bar for financial television, said
Robert Shuman, Maryland Public Television's president and
chief executive, in a statement. The depth and breadth of
Fortune's business and economic coverage is a good fit
with the needs of PBS's financial program viewers, he
said.

PBS' move comes at a time when commercial television
is rapidly re-evaluating its commitment to and presentation
of news. Walt Disney Co. has considered entertainment
alternatives to ABC's long-running Nightline, and many
observers have wondered how long broadcast networks
can even justify the traditional 6:30 p.m. newscast.

By drawing on MPT's production expertise and Fortune's
journalistic resources, the show promises to be lively,

   As a person raised around cats most of my life I have made an
observation. Cats themselves have what a vet friend used to call the cat
crazies. This is when for instance a quiet dozing cat will suddenly jump up
like a bat out of hell, tear around the room chasing heaven knows what, meow
and vocalize at no one or nothing in particular, run up the drapes, etc.
This behavior is most commonly observed in young cats but will occasionally
be seen in all cats.
Some people who I have known the smoke reefer have been known to
blow a little smoke at their cat. The report that they instantly get the cat
crazies. Cat themselves seem to have an interesting brain / thought process
pattern so its not entirely impossible that some of this might rub off on
the humans in their lives. Whether this is due to a virus or not I can't say
(as no one has ever stood up to vouch for my sanity ever).
  I enjoy cat behavior very much but many people absolutely detest
cats. Do you know that the only member of the cat family mentioned in the
bible is the lion (in the old or new testaments). This is very strange
because the Egyptians just about worshiped cats and thought very highly of
them.
  Also cats will often find you and just walk into your life ( and
sometimes leave that way too).

 I THINK CATS ARE GREAT, says E. Fuller Torrey. His office decor would
seem to
 confirm this statement: A cat poster hangs on one wall; a cat calendar
sits on
 his desk; and a framed picture of a friend's cat leans against the
windowsill.
 He even admits to having a cat library at home.


 But Torrey's interest in felines is a bit different from that of your
typical
 cat lover. That's because Torrey, a psychiatry professor at the Uniformed
 Services University of Health Science and the enfant terrible of mental
health
 research, believes that Felis domestica may carry infectious diseases that
 could cause schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. My wife thinks I'm going
to be
 assassinated by cat owners, says Torrey with a sigh. In fact, I like
cats.

 voice trails off, and he pensively fingers his closely cropped beard.


 Torrey often speaks in a self-deprecating manner of his delusional
notions,
 but he's dead serious about the cat connection. He thinks typhoid
tabbies are
 passing along Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that causes brain lesions and,

 Torrey is right, schizophrenia.



 Torrey first made the argument nearly thirty years ago. It was considered
 psychotic, he admits. But since then, his ideas, though still outside the
 mainstream, have attracted converts, most notably the Johns Hopkins
virologist
 Robert Yolken, with whom he now collaborates. Together, they're trying to
prove
 that toxoplasmosis is but one of several infectious diseases that cause
most
 cases of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It helps their case that
previous
 explanations-bad mothering, bad genes-have proven deficient to varying
degrees.
 But Torrey and Yolken have also uncovered some hard evidence to support
their
 claims, and they are about to put their theory to the test with clinical
trials
 of drugs that are new to the psychopharmacological arsenal: antibiotics
and
 antivirals similar to those used by AIDS patients. If the duo finds that
such
 drugs alter the course of schizophrenia, Yolken observes, their results
would
 represent a major advance in the treatment of this devastating disease as
well
 as in understanding its basic etiology.


 SCHIZOPHRENIA is a cruel disease, Torrey has written, with considerable
 understatement. Although it affects only 1 percent of the population,
 schizophrenia is among the most debilitating forms of mental illness.
Trapped
 in a world of private delusions, a schizophrenic might cling, for example,
to
 the belief that he is Jesus Christ, or that the government has implanted a
 monitoring device in his mouth during a routine dental procedure. Visual
and
 auditory hallucinations can range from the terrifying to the merely
strange:
 gigantic spiders, voices that insult or instruct. Some schizophrenics
withdraw,
 becoming mute or catatonic; others remain communicative but incoherent,
jumping
 from one topic to another without logical connections.


 With little or no warning, schizophrenia usually manifests itself in
patients
 between the ages of sixteen and thirty. From then on, the illness waxes
and
 wanes, with symptoms generally becoming less severe as the patient ages.

Half Brother Says bin Laden
Is Alive And Well

JEDDA, Saudi Arabia (CNN) - A half brother of Osama bin Laden says the
terrorist's family has its own information that bin Laden is alive and
that he does not have kidney disease requiring dialysis.
 
In an interview with CNN correspondent Rula Amin, Sheikh Ahmad -- who
did not want his last name revealed -- also said he does not believe
that bin Laden, part of a large and wealthy Saudi family, could be
behind the September 11 attacks against the United States.
 
He is my brother. I know him. I lived with him for years. I know how
much he fears God, Sheikh Ahmad said. He and Osama have the same mother
but different fathers.
 
Sheikh Ahmad spoke fondly of his older brother, describing him as a
simple, deeply religious man with a very soft heart who hates
injustice.
 
Such words stand in stark contrast to how President Bush and other world
leaders have described bin Laden, branding him the mastermind behind the
September attacks.
 
An estimated 3,063 people were killed when four hijacked U.S. commercial
jets crashed into New York's World Trade Center, the Pentagon in
Virginia and a field in Pennsylvania.
 
There's overwhelming evidence bin Laden was behind the attacks of
September 11, said Peter Bergen, who has written a book about bin
Laden. If the family chooses not to believe that, that's just how
families operate.
 
Family says phone call indicates bin Laden is alive Sheikh Ahmad said
his mother received a call three weeks ago saying Osama was fine. He did
not say who made the phone call.
 
He said they believed the phone call was credible, that Osama is
alive, said CNN's Amin.
 
The half brother knows bin Laden better than much of the rest of the
family, which officially denounced Osama in the mid-1990s after he
condemned the Saudi royal family for allying itself with the United
States against Iraq during the Persian Gulf War.
 
Sheikh Ahmad said he visited bin Laden a few times when bin Laden lived
in Sudan and he saw him in Afghanistan last year.
 
Sheikh Ahmad said he was very worried when the United States declared
him a wanted man, but his concerns have eased.
 
It's easier now. We got used to it. We know any minute it's possible
that we will hear some bad news, he said.
 
Sheikh Ahmad spoke Arabic and his comments are based on English
transcript of the 15-minute interview. It was taped this past Tuesday in
a friend's house in Jedda, Saudi Arabia, where he lives
 
Half brother condemns September 11 attacks Sheikh Ahmad is a 36-year-old
married businessman who runs an advertising production company that's
part of the vast and profitable bin Laden family business empire. The
family business started in construction, expanding mosques in Mecca and
Medina and building roads and palaces for the Saudi royal family.
 
Sheikh Ahmad described the September 11 attacks as terrible.
 
Any Muslim wouldn't accept this, he said, adding there was no way
his brother could be involved in the hijackings.
 
When the attacks came, it was a disaster for the bin Ladens. Two dozen
of them were living in the United States, according to a family
spokesman. For their own safety, the Saudi government quickly arranged
for a charter jet that spirited them out of the country from Boston's
Logan Airport.
 
Since then, the bin Laden family has agonized over whether to publicly
denounce Osama's activities.
 
Sheikh Ahmad said he and his mother last saw bin Laden at the January
2001 wedding of one of Osama's sons in Afghanistan. It was at that
wedding that Sheikh Ahmad said his infamous brother told him that
stories he required kidney dialysis were not true.
 
He loved his family and friends, gatherings. He especially adores his
mother. First comes God, then his mother, Sheikh Ahmad said.
 
Sheikh Ahmad was hesitant at first about doing the interview but agreed,
believing he knew a side of Osama that he wanted to share with others.
 
We grew up together in the same house, he said. Osama is known for
being a simple person, very merciful, a very soft heart. It's impossible
that anyone would sit with him and not like him or get bored. Frankly,
Osama is very close to the heart and very popular.
 
Asked whether he believed his brother would be captured, Sheikh Ahmad
replied, I can't tell. As his brothers, we wish him safety.
 
Their mother, he said, was worried most about bin Laden.
 
She is an expert now, more than any media person. She watched all the
news on all the different TV channels. We get her all the newspapers,
the interviews, and she is always discussing it.

Flashback: Sabra and Shatila massacres

An unknown number of Palestinians died in the 40-hour slaughter

The 1982 massacres of Palestinians at Sabra and Shatila refugee camps
claimed the lives of at least 800 civilians, murdered by Lebanese
Christian militiamen allied to Israel during its brief occupation of the
Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The killings are considered the worst atrocity of Lebanon's 15-year
civil war and perhaps during the entire Middle East conflict.

Elie Hobeika was the Phalangists head of military intelligence

The victims had been left defenceless after Israel drove the Syrian army
and fighters belonging to Yasser Aratat's Palestinian Liberation
Organisation (PLO) from the Lebanese capital.

The expulsion of the PLO was the result of Israel's Operation Peace for
Galilee invasion, masterminded by then-Defence Minister Ariel Sharon,
to eradicate the terrorist threat posed by the Palestinians' military
presence in Lebanon.

The slaughter was carried out by fighters from the Lebanese Forces
militia (LF), linked to the Christian Phalange group, who were hungry
for revenge for the killing of the Phalange leader Bashir Gemayel in a
car bomb two days earlier.

They didn't spare anyone; they killed everyone they came across

Survivor Muhammad Faqih

PLO forces withdrew in a US-mediated ceasefire at the beginning of
September.
Mr Sharon declared that 2,000 terrorists remained in Palestinian
refugee camps around Beirut. Sabra and Shatila were surrounded by
Israeli tanks and soldiers, with checkpoints to monitor the entry or
exit of any person.

But on the afternoon of 16 September about 150 LF fighters moved into
the camps.

Massacre begins

Survivors say that the killers went from house to house, threatening to
blow up buildings if the residents did not come out.
The survivors reported overhearing the Phalangists telling one another
to use axes to kill their victims, because the sound of gunfire would
alert others to their fate.

The camps today: Little sympathy for Hobeika's assassination

They killed my sister's husband in front of me, said survivor Nadima
Nasser. I saw them shooting at the men. They killed them all. I fled.

Mrs Nasser is one of 23 survivors who have lodged a legal case against
Mr Sharon in Belgium, where the law allows him to be tried for alleged
crimes committed abroad.

Her testimony, along with others is included on a newly-launched
internet site about the massacres, Justice for the Victims of Sabra and
Shatila.

Israeli inquiry

Mr Sharon resigned his post after an Israeli commission of inquiry
established that he bore indirect responsibility for the deaths for
having disregarded the danger of acts of vengeance by the militias
when he allowed them into the camps.

Mr Sharon denies responsibility for the massacre

The Kahane Commission inquiry said LF intelligence chief Elie Hobeika
had direct responsibility, because he ordered the killings.

Mr Hobeika denied involvement in the killings right up to his death in a
car bomb attack on 24 January 2002.

Outside Israel, human rights groups have long argued that Mr Sharon and
the Lebanese Christian perpetrators should be tried for war crimes.

In January 2001, in the run-up to Israeli elections in which he won a
resounding victory, Mr Sharon expressed regret about the terrible
tragedy, but refused to apologise or accept any responsibility for the
massacres.

The Belgian court is still deciding whether to pursue charges of crimes
against humanity against Mr Sharon.
Hobeika had said he would testify against the Israeli Prime Minister and
had important revelations to make.
