Predefined styles are treated in a somewhat special way. After changing the translation Överskrift 1 to Rubrik 1, the line style:style . style:display-name=Heading 1 . in the ODF file will be displayed using the new translation Rubrik 1. The following situation might help you understand that behavior. You write a text document using a style name Överskrift 1 with Swedish Writer, then send it to your friend in Germany. He uses German Writer. Question 1: Can your friend open the document without any problem? Answer 1: Yes, he can. Question 2: What will your friend find a name of the style in his Writer? The way to fix this type of problem would be to enlarge the size of text box. Or, review the translation and shorten the translation. The reason why I could not resist the urge of translating the wiki page came from the issue 81382 (already fixed, closed). The online-help of OpenOffice.org English has the following example code: Type address Name1 as String City as String End Type Meanwhile, OpenOffice.org Japanese had funny translations like this: Enter your address put a name1 into text city as a text End Type I guess those translations were made about a decade ago with a line-by-line translation system with which it was hard to recognize surrounding contexts. Anyway, I thought the wiki page with the similar code examples including some jargons from programming languages had to be carefully and manually translated in collaboration with a software engineer.
