[digitalradio] microHam USB Interface III

2009-06-27 Thread Simon (HB9DRV)
Hi All, I would like to give a big thumbs-up to the microHam USB Interface III - I've just set it up with my TS-480SAT, DELL M1330 laptop and HRD software for 6m digital operation. The microHam is idiot-proof and working nicely. It was a pleasure to meet Jozef from microHam at the

I'm not sure about idiot proof, does it use the Microham device router with audio switching? If so, that always confuses me. However, good to see you join the Microham club, I used the Microkeyer...one of my best ever ham investments . Andy K3UK On Sat, Jun 27, 2009 at 5:54 AM, Simon

Yes, it's using the microHam router and I sent Jozef a suggestion for making the installation simpler. I understand what he's doing, for those of us who just want a COM port for CAT control the installation guide could be a bit simpler. Simon Brown, HB9DRV www.ham-radio-deluxe.com -

FWIW in Europe you'll see plenty of PSK31 on 50.250MHz, on Thursday I saw at least 36 stations in 17 countries (I use a TS-480SAT and 5/8 vertical). I've also heard some RTTY on about 50.195MHz. Callsign Time Band Country EA8ACW/P 17:34 6mAF Canary

You'll probably find JT65C is needed on the UHF bands, 432 to 2.3GHz for example, to allwo for teh frequency spreading Doppler - abnd certainly for EME for which it was designed. Conversely, at LF, 137 / 503kHz, teh A varient is satisfactory and only consumes half teh bandwidth. Andy

FWIW the router is really just a service - and the driver runs as a service anyway (all drivers do). I think the microHam solution is actually rather good. I'm using it for HRD (CAT) and DM780 (soundcard) on 6m. When the 6m season is over I'll probably run it on 30m / 17m. Simon Brown, HB9DRV
