Hi all,
I have a test transmission going on. The frequency is 10.140 and the
mode is Slowfeld. I have been playing with qr in Slowfeld.for a
while and it is great fun.
This evening I am trying a new slowfeld software from Lionel Sear,

Hi Andy,
Great! I think I will let the beacon stay on for a few days,
and will be very grateful for all reports I get.

Is the MP3 an USB card or pci?
I'm using a westinghouse lcd and an external soundblaster audigy 2nx
USB soundcard, and sata hard drives. I put the cd in my old computer
and everything works ok. Watching the bootup I think either the sata
drives and/or the usb audio card are not being detected

By the way Steinar, does the software do the CW ID correctly for
The SB MP3+ is a standard bus card, not an external one. Been around for
many years. Seems like with MEPIS I had to manually select the nv
drivers when I was running on the HP AMD box. No other version of Linux
could do this so far. SUSE has a good selection of video monitors but it

Hi Andy ,
I have a confession to make. I have not tried the CW ID . To operate
strictly correct,
I probably should. ( I hope I am not starting a new circle quarrel now).
I am using the micro Keyer from microHam and my PTT works perfect .
Later this evening I will test the cw id function,
Hi Andy,
Take a look at this side:

It is a collections of grabber's on 30m .
As you probably know , here is a very special activity going on in a
small segment of 30m band, testing out various qrpp modes .
The segment is only
I solved the PTT issue. My daughter was charging her Ipod and had
disconnected my USB to Microkeyer cable!

The nv driver is a generic open source software and give people
fits. Try the nvidia site for their linux driver. The nvidia
module and nv are two separate pieces of software. I had to set my
monitor to vesa with the nv driver in order to get it to work, and
not very well. With the nvidia
The soundcard isn't detected at boot. I tried running the sound setup
both from the desktop and from the system menu, but it doesn't detect
the external usb card either!
On the old computer it found the 1371 pci card, the mboard sound, and
a couple of other sound devices I didn't even recognize.
Folks,

Omar, good evening.
It is a program that uses PSK (31, 63, 125, 250) . It can use regular PSK
for keyboard chats but you can also decide to use PSK with ARQ if you want
to send a text file or email where accuracy is important. The software
works only under Linux, so the authors have developed a
Andy, where can I get NBEMS. Is it free to use ?
On David's web side http://www.w1hkj.com , I only see something called flarq
(fast light automatic repeat request)
And what about making a windows version of this PSK (31, 63, 125, 250)
ARQ mode?
(no religious Linux/Windows quarrel now folks)

I was trying to work some 40 meter digital this evening but there are
stations that have some audio extending down to 7070 which makes it
difficult to use digital up at 1500 up from 7071. In fact, for a while

Rud,
I would really enjoy hearing some discussion on the use of OFDM on
HF. I work on an OFDM project and have an understanding of how it
works although I am not a system designer. I have also tried OFDM
with HamPal (digital SSTV) and WinDRM (digital voice) and it seems to

Ed,
I am looking into the possibilities of OFDM. Right now I am stumbling over
how to modulate the sub channels using the IFFT. g Actually, I think it is
done by putting equal values in the real and imaginary parts of a bin and
then doing the IFFT but need to try it out.
I am a big proponent of
