I've been trying to get embargoes working using DSpace 1.5.1, but I'm

This has been a very confusing issue because some along the way have
said that it doesn't work, and then the topic was discussed at length
in an online DSpace-sponsored chat at the end of 2008 where someone
suggested that a release available from Minho would allow it to work.

Hi,
The emails in our DSpace are been sent correctly, since we changed the value
of the environment variable LC_ALL to es_MX, for your case I think it would
be es_ES, and we also changed the value of mail.charset to ISO-8859-1
Hope it helps.

We are running DSpace 1.4.2 and would like to turn on Apache logging to
track our public's use of our site. We've looked in the various log
directories and it looks like this feature is turned off. Does anyone know
what steps are necessary to turn on Apache/Tomcat access logging?
Thanks!!
Ricardo,
After the last implementation of the DSpace How-To Guide, we had
jointly decided it would be better to put that guide in a place where
others could add to it, modify, etc.

Hi,
I completed the Unix installation instructions for Dspace (section 3.2.3 in

For step 6, I changed directory to [dspace source]/dspace and typed

It might be helpful to know the precise versions of the software
you're using. Are you setting up DSpace 1.4, which is now somewhat
old, or 1.4.2, the latest on the 1.4 branch?
The error text suggests that you are using a very recent PostgreSQL.

Does anyone know if any work is going on regarding federating a number

We have that use case here, John -- we are implementing separate DSpace

We're just going to harvest the data using OAI-PMH. I'm sure you've thought of
that, too.

OAI doesn't include the full text, so searching is significantly limited.

If common search is your primary reason, and your content is largely open

results from your DSpaces. This would just be regular Google
