Re: [Dx4win] How to change entity to match call

2017-01-26 Thread Jerry N9AW
They are the same. This is the information I found online when searching
for T32C 2011

Between 1 and 24 October 2011, thirty eight radio amateurs from 11
countries activated the Island of Kiritimati (Christmas Island) in
the Northern Line Islands, a part of the Republic of Kiribati. The
DXpedition was organised by the Five Star DXers Association (FSDXA)
and operated using the call sign T32C.

[Dx4win] How to change entity to match call

2017-01-26 Thread Megin Murphy
I worked T32C in 2011 when a team went to Christmas Island. That call pulls
up Eastern Kirabati. How do I change the entity to Christmas Island for
that call at that time?

Re: [Dx4win] VUCC & LOTW

2017-01-26 Thread Mike Rhodes
Ok, I don't have an answer but things are getting closer now. Instead of
filtering on VUCC Submission and LOTW Confirmed, I did as Jim suggested
and modified the VUCC awards selection so it chose only LOTW confirmed
Qs. Now, instead of 80 Qs, I show 113 !! Guess one over is better than
32 under !! Clueless as to what is going on but I guess it is the end
result that counts ! Hopefully this discussion will save someone else
some grief.

No direct way. FYI, there is no such thing as "LoTW Award". I think
you are thinking of importing *confirmations* from LoTW into DX4WIN.

Here's the long answer...

I have done two VUCC submissions. The first was all (only)
electronic, through the LoTW web site. You can go to your DX4WIN
Award preferences for VUCC and change the confirmation method to
"LoTW" only. Then do a VUCC submission through the DX4WIN Reports
menu. It will pull only VUCC confirmations that have previously been
confirmed via LoTW. But this list probably won't match up exactly
with the list of QSOs that the VUCC system generated, so you'll have
to touch it up.

Then about 6 months later, I did another submission with both LoTW and
paper QSL confirmations allowed. This was to get all my QSLs together
for grids for which I did not have a LoTW confirmation. There were a
few LoTW confirmations included, but I eliminated those from the
submission. Now I'm at 250 grids credited on 6 meters, with a handful
of LoTW confirmations I have not yet submitted.

Unlike DXCC, there is no way to to download an ADIF file of all your
LoTW credits. I was hoping to use this to make sure my DX4WIN award
flags were correct. I was going to add it to this program:

 http://dx4win.ad1c.us/lotw/

If you click on "Version History" you'll see where I was headed. I
stupidly wrote all the code, then only when I tried to use it, found
out it does not work. At the time I had only LoTW credits, so I
*thought* it was working. Until I submitted those QSLs. You *can*
download all your (say) 6 meter QSOs from LoTW (K1MU wrote a utility
to help with this), and there will be VUCC award credits in that file,
but *only* for QSOs confirmed through LoTW. Any grids you have
confirmed only by paper QSL will *not* be in that file. Well, the
QSOs will be in that file, but there is not an ADIF field showing you
having received credit for them.

I have a possible work-around, but it's not pretty, and relies only on
"scraping" the list of grids confirmed that you can get on the award
page. I just have not had time to work on it yet.

The F8 filter isn't enough. You can make a Selection by Date Range:

Filter | Selection

If you were trying to filter only LoTW confirmed QSOs, then you should
modify your VUCC award:

File | Awards

Click VUCC tab and set confirmation type as needed.

[Dx4win] VUCC & LOTW

2017-01-26 Thread Mike Rhodes
So I just applied for 6 meter VUCC using LOTW credits. These QSO's are
marked as confirmed via LOTW (and possibly via QSL also) in my DX4Win log.

Is there a way to use the LOTW award to mark these Qs as 'C'onfirmed for
VUCC in DX4Win? There are not that many so far (112) but, once I have
paperwork in hand, I will be submitting another 108 (assuming I can find
all the QSLs). These 108 were found with the search for 6m grids,
excluding LOTW confirmations. Then they were exported to EXCEL and
duplicates were removed so these too will need to be marked 'C' for 6m
VUCC. There would probably be some duplicates in the DX4Win LOTW Qs also.

Any hope of getting out of marking them all by hand? Next project is
digging out my old 432 log and entering all those Qs into DX4Win because
I think I have enough 432 QSLs for 432 1/2 VUCC.

Thanks,

Hi Jim

I had the trouble with the VCRUNTIME140.DLL file

OS WIN 10, fully updated.

Solution was to reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 x86 the it all worked ok.

Re: [Dx4win] vc_redist.x86.exe fails to install

2017-01-26 Thread Mack N4SS
I ran the “Old” updater a few days ago before reading this reflector. The “New”
updater Version 9 was then auto installed the next time I ran Updater per
previous editions. The new Version 9 runs good without having to
uninstall/install. Hoping I am not missing anything by not uninstalling the old
then installing the new.
Windows 10, all updates. DX4WIN Version 8.05.
73’s,
Mack N4SS

Same here too.

I uninstalled the old Update program, installed the new one from scratch. It
all seemed to go fine, except it says the 140.dll file is missing and won't run.

OS is Win 8 and up to date.
