I don't quite understand why someone would want to change the RIT/XIT range of

Since the K1 does not have dual VFO's if you want to work split the RIT/XIT is all you've

RIT range.

For someone new to K2 building - like, say, someone who just ordered his

I'd say its better to build the K2 as-is first, then add the modules one at a
time. It's far easier to trouble shoot if you have any problems going along
without the otherstuff already changed. With a good solder sucker it doesn't
take long at all to remove whatever components necessary.
Howdy Lloyd,
I use AFIL most of the time. One of these days I am going to change

Bob,
There are quite a few small paddles. Some are made from binder clips or
plastic boxes and brass spacers while others are finely crafted instruments.
Since they are all small and lightweight, you usually end up with one hand
holding the paddle while you send with the other. Some do have

Yes, I too have the DSP 59+, and use it all the time.
Partly to supplement the K2DSP denoiser, partly to add

Hello everyone:
Came home from work and found that my new K2 had been delivered by UPS.
Thanks for all the encouragement I have received so far because I probably
would never have ordered it if it had not been for the cool folks here.
I will let everyone know how the build is coming along.
Do I remember correctly that there is/was a free use version of
Spectrogram for aligning the K2? If so, where can I download the program?

instructions on the Elecraft web site. The new version I could not

Ken,
You will find the last free version of Spectrogram on Tom Hammond's website
www.n0ss.net. The later 'pay-for' versions have lots of extra goodies, but
if all you wnat to do is align your K2, the free version has all the
capibility that is needed.

I am going to use my SB-200 with the Elecraft. I have purchased an

inside the SB-200 and essentially converts the high voltage keying line down
to something the K2 can safely key. I haven't installed it

I have not seen much in the way of promotion for the Elecraft QSO Party, 2005.
In January, Wayne mention a date of 12 March. Anymore info? Is it really gonna
happen? Writelog has updated the EQP module for the 2005 rules (Where are
they posted?). So WL users will want to down load WL1053e
Make sure the keying circuit is for positive voltage. Some of the keying
circuits I've seen for K2 are designed for negative voltage keying...
the SB-200 is positive I believe.
