I have a KX3 and am doing some SOTA activations.
I have obtained a 4S LiPo battery which is somewhere north of 16 V with
full charge.
I would like to get a DC-DC regulator as a more elegany solution than
series diodes.
I have searched and searched but no solid outcomes.

KX3, I have played about with the two mike settings BIAS (on/off) and
pgupdwn/ptt/off with a computer headset where the 3.5mm mike has a
stereo plug and no joy. Noted it initially as got the PTT error message
and TX stays open when plugged in. No amount of combinations of with VOX

I installed the KXV3A feature and attempted to run the 1 Milliwatt
Transmitter Gain Calibration
I put two 1N5400 diodes in series with each other (these are 3-amp diodes).
The diodes are physically side-by-side, with the leads connected in series to
keep the assembly small. This all fits nicely between two PowerPole connectors
and has a piece of heat-shrink over it. When connected

an HD15 breakout board from Winford Engineering or see if you can find
one of the LDG RCA breakout boxes. I have one of these and it works

The voltage you read on the 1st ring is the pull-up for the PTT UP/Down
buttons.

Other possibilities are to control the PR-6 on another way (some switch

problem creating the folder used to store the results of Tx Gain

Apple is pretty restrictive with what / who / how the USB and Bluetooth
Interfaces get used in iOS. As a result, not much has been developed for the
wired or bluetooth interface for iPad/iPhone, WiFi, however, is another story.

It seems that most PC headsets connect the tip and ring together, so
they can take bias from either, and that connecting the tip and ring

this is exactly what I do. The LiFePO4 has a little more weight, but the cells
are robust
and have the correct voltage and probably can do more charge/discharge cycles.
I think the trouble with a voltage regulator is not worth the very little gain
in weight.
