fink install lua52
I've chosen lua52 because lua52-dev and lua52-shlibs were already installed.
lua52 was installed but deselected, I don't know why...

I'm trying to update to gnuplot-4.6.4-1, and the install step fails on both OS
X 10.6 and 10.8, and I have emacs23-23.4-2 installed. The emacs is relevant
because it looks like the failure happens when byte-compiling a lisp file.

this morning fink attempted to update gnuplot. However, the build

though, the binaries don't work because libpdf doesn't get installed. i
did the sourc-install with fink-commander.
