Hi Martin: Thanks. Yes, I get the warning -- didn't look at the console.log As a work-around, I found adding a logout script using the logout hook to delete these files into /etc/ttys did the trick. The permissions on /tmp etc are as yours. For now everything works. Many thanks. Bill
