I have /boot with ext2 on hda1 / with reiserfs hda2 swap on hda3 some time ago grub worked fine (maybe with different configuration of devices) through last year I was using lilo (everywhere, on my servers too) today I tryed to install grub on mbr: root (hd0,0) setup (hd0) quit it installed
