The text field was replaced in recent Weblate versions and there has been
some regressions, you can report back to Weblate, the LibreOffice instance
is updated periodically according to the stable versions AFAICT.

I believe that investing in Pootle today is a waste of money, Weblate
already has a great amount of features and advantages, if you believe it's
a cosmetic change it would be better to develop a customized UI rather than
investing in a project which falls behind most of the recent innovation and
standards available to translators.

[libreoffice-l10n] Arabic Website

2017-02-07 Thread Yaron Shahrabani
Hi guys,

Although my Arabic is very poor I was able to figure that the Arabic
website is still advising the users to download LibreOffice 4, and the
images match this version.

I can change the number and maybe provide some screenshots but I think that
an Arabic speaker will probably do it better than me :)

http://ar.libreoffice.org/

BTW, what else is required for us to have the same thing in Hebrew?
(Basically the Arabic design is perfect for Hebrew in terms of RTL
directionality).

Kind regards,
Yaron Shahrabani

Just to be clear: Only the function names themselves have to be
unique. Those places where the function names are used in dialogs or

 the corresponding function.

I guess CamelCase is used to make it easier to parse in the dialog.

I just updated to LO 4.1.2 (English US) on Intel Mac OS X 10.7.5 and the
parentheses mapping for Hebrew text seems to be broken. When I switch the
input language to Hebrew, the parentheses are reversed when I use the Times
New Roman font... However, some Hebrew fonts appear to be working properly.

Could this be a continuation of this problem:

 http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/18912/bidirectional-text-and-closing-bracket-bug/

The most logical way to map the parenthesis is that the button 9 should
give a left parenthesis and the button 0 should give a right parenthesis,
regardless of OS input language, document language, or text direction. This
is the way Hebrew behaves in other Mac applications such as TextEdit and
 Mail...

Please advise whether this bug is able to be fixed, and if there is
anything I can do on my install to fix it.

Thank you in advance for your time and attention.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Invalid Entry in Po Files

2013-07-31 Thread Yaron Shahrabani
Dear Tadele!
Try using Poedit (Any version above 1.5 is fine).

This tool shows the misbehaving strings in red on top of the list after you
save.
This way you can look at the strings that Virtaal will simply ignore upon
saving (Sorry Friedel ☺).

Another great tool I would suggest you to use (mainly in Ubuntu) is
msgfmt.
After you edit the file just go to the command line and type msgfmt -vco
/dev/null /path/to/your/file.sid.po (replace the last part with the actual
file location).

If you don't have the msgfmt tool you'll have to install gettext using the
following command:
sudo apt-get install gettext
You will be asked for your password and then the tool will be installed so
you can use it.

Anyways I'm so glad to see this translation completing so fast.
Good job!

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Invalid Entry in Po Files

2013-07-27 Thread Yaron Shahrabani
It's fairly simple, assuming you have the gettext tools installed, if not
just send me the file and I'll scan it for you.

With gettext the command would be: msgfmt -vco /dev/null base.po (in the
same dir of course)

many German or non-changed strings on top, can anyone please identify and
help me revert to the original from git?

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Virtaal Fuzzy Reoval

2013-06-22 Thread Yaron Shahrabani
Hey Tadele!
You can use some linux tools to do it for you.

I can recommend the following option:

sed '/\,\sfuzzy/d' ./infile.po ./outfile.po

this way you'll eliminate the fuzzy flag for all the strings (And any
other line containing the combination , fuzzy, if it really matter you
can add \# at the beginning of the regex to delete these lines only).

Well, I'd recommend Unicode NSIS instead of traditional NSIS.

 Unicode NSIS
 http://www.scratchpaper.com/

AbiWord switched to Unicode NSIS to allow for a greater range of
 language representations.

It might be necessary to host a few additional PO files (then convert
them to properly formatted nlf and nsh files for upstreaming) if your
language is not already complete in Unicode NSIS. I would be happy to
share the POT files I created manually for that purpose, which I host
only for languages where they are needed. It is not a lot of strings,
you've already got many of them complete as your installer appears to
 be derived from NSIS.

 http://translate.sugarlabs.org/projects/AbiWord/

Wow Chris! your Pootle instance is too slow, would you consider updating
the system?
I was thinking about helping the Hebrew translation but it would take
forever on a sluggish system...

Kind regards,
Yaron Shahrabani.

Hi guys!
The terminology feature in LibreOffice's Pootle works very slowly and even

Plus there's no way to change the translation of terms once extracted from

character to change so It's a bit of shame to delete this match entirely).

This is funny. In LibreOffice source kid is not Koshin but special key
id pseudo language (hence the kid abbreviation). Unfortunately it is
also an ISO language code, and somebody treated it so. Currently
LibreOffice is not translated into Koshin.

LOL That's histerical!
You really made me laugh!

Kind regards,
Yaron Shahrabni.

[libreoffice-l10n] Some help needed regarding several strings

2011-01-09 Thread Yaron Shahrabani
Hey guys, I'm almost at 100% and ready for tommorow's commit, I can't
promise to deliver but we are at 98/99% already.

Here are some questions we could use a little help with:

Foral-StudioA (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232498
)
What kind of gallery is it? Where can I see those elements? (I saw that in
Korean they only translated the word Studio and the rest is the same)

What are the ODMA DMS dialogs? (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232234
)

Where does this Justify string appears? (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232247
)

Whats the context of this Align to bottom string? (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232255
)
Same for Align to top (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232258
)

Does this string tells us that something is Centered Vertically or is it a
command? And what is this centered item exactly? (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232256
)

Ignore isolated pieces of length (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232290),
I have no idea what does that mean...

I don't know what this strings are for, where do they appear?
Calc A1 -
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232423
Excel A1 -
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232424
Excel R1C1 -
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232425

Outplace OLE Object - What is this command doing? (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232430
)

Kabyle Latin - Can someone refer me to some info about this pair or explain
a little about it? (
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/he/libo33/lo-build-he.po/translate/?unit=232441
)

That's it,
Thanks in advance ☺

I'm not sure about it but I understand it as External OLE object or Make
 it external OLE object.

Doesn't sound right, any other suggestions?

Thanks for everything else! ☺
As soon as I will manage to find the name of the Koshin (kid) language, the
translation will reach 100%.

Kind regards,
Yaron Shahrabani.

  Hi,

if it goes well, we are going to tag libreoffice-3-3 brach for
LibO-3.3-rc3 release on Monday, Jan 10 at about 13p.m. UTC.

Andras, could you please commit the current strings from the pootle
server on Sunday evening or Monday morning?

 Hi,

I updated the files from Pootle. There were gsicheck error that I fixed in
SDF (not in PO this time). Translators of bg, br, eu, he, or, te and ug,
please check below and correct the errors in Pootle. I also updated
 translation statistics [1].

 Cheers,
 Andras
