I have wondered the same thing at one time or another. I asked my insurance agent about whether my supplies were covered under my homeowner's insurance, and the answer was that I would have to compile an inventory (preferably with photographs) and get a rider on my insurance to cover these

When this came up on Arachne in about 2002, I decided to buckle down and do my inventory, for insurance purposes. I store it in Excel, with details of spangles, inscriptions, costs, supplier etc. It was a lot of work - and revealed a huge collection of bobbins! Now, the collection grows slowly
