Hi Anne,
If there is no birth or death date but there is a
baptism or burial date, Charting uses those for the birth or death date.
Legacy does the same thing when calculating

Sorry, I misled you. The chart I was looking at
was showing dates for someone I knew I only had baptism and burial dates
for.
The Lifespan option is picking these up.

I have been using the appearance box to identify data I want included in
charts. I like to include a burial and christening where I cannot identify
a birth or death date which usually applies to pre 1837 family. When I add
the burial field to the chart it then includes the burials for
5 matches
