Terry have you tried using the picture centre, in the u picture filename
select the current misspelled name, it should appear in the attached Pics
window, click rename and change the filename. I'd try one first and see if it
works for your documents.

I have had good success renaming files using the picture center.
Here's what I do:
1. go to picture center
2. in the right 1/3 of the screen select the Picture List
3. in the middle section Browse to the correct folder containing the file
to be renamed and the ok.
3. in the middle section again

I am having the same problem with renaming photos and documents in the
media file that are attached to several people.
If I remember the people they are attached to, I can go to each one and
remove the old one and attach the new one.
But if they are
The Picture Center is on the Tools Ribbon.
Note it only deals with image files so unless your documents are
actually images, it won't help you.
Other media are shown with the placeholder image for sound, video, docs.
To get a list of the media and the people they are attached to, use the
View
For me it's on My Toolbar tab.
And you can also find it in the Tools Tab, Tools Section.

Hi Terry,
I think you are talking about documents attached as media to sources and
maybe elsewhere.
I don't think there is an easy way to change an attached filename after
it has been attached.
You could do it in Access once you find the right table. You'd have to
change the filename in Windows
How are you using the document? Is the document one of your sources? If
so, it's very easy to change the name. Just edit the source, and then when
Legacy asks if you want to change all instances of the source, say yes, and
it's done. Otherwise, I think you'll have to do a search and replace. I
