The Event/Fact, Description, Date and Place fields are not WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) fields. When you use the CTRL-key to format those fields, including the place, you should see a string of funny characters before and after the text. Those strings of characters are the format codes I

Hi Pat, I hadn't thought of doing that. That's a good solution for some things. Your problem may be where you are trying to do the edit. You need to edit existing locations in the Master Location list unless you want the location with and without the formatting. It works for me. I chose a

Use reset to set the report to defaults. There should not be a line between events but Legacy is now incorrectly adding those if you run a lined report first. The error is recorded in our problem reporting system. To change report spacing select the page layout tab then click the custom report
