My first thought was Go to the TCP/IP messages manual... But the two messages weren't in there. (IBM? You listening?) So... Search for Small data buffers in the Planning and Customization manual, and you'll find topic 4.52, which tells how to change the number of buffers initially allocated.

The current Notes client is very tied into the MS APIs. Porting it to any other platform would be extremely difficult, and given the marketshare of Linux on desktops, not justifiable. iNotes works just fine (except you have to be network connected I believe). Also, the Notes 6.0 and 6.5 clients

Something about this rings a bell. Someone recently had a problem, and the fix was to define the Linux guest as a machine type of ESA, not XA. I can't remember if that came up on this list, or in a private email. I'll do some poking around and see if I can find the note. Mark Post
