The best resources for learning are looking at, and tweaking,
code written by others. Take a look at the code in the Samples
directory, and the KGM utilities (downloadable from the MapInfo-L
file archives at http://www.directionsmag.com/mapinfo-l/), as
well as many other mapbasic sources there.

While performing a series of AreaOverlap calculations, I am getting the MapInfo error
message "Too many files open".
In reality there are only 3 tables open, so I presume the "files" are internal temp
files.
