Just wondering, since I don't have the harddisk space required
to build mozilla, has anyone made 0.9.2 linux builds with static
enabled? eh.. or could one be made available, for example as
a special tar file with the other 0.9.2 releases ?

Static build refers to a build in which some of the DLLs (or shared
