I'm sure you've all had one. Mine is a nitpicker. Which is fine, she challenges
me to be a better tech. Knowing this I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to her
services.
Anyhoo she currently has GIA Soak off gel on her nails. I am having great
success with this on quite a few of my
I was so miffed at her text on Friday night then the more I thought about it I
thought I could at last get rid of her. but I swear... I looked at her nails
(as
a SQUEEZED her into my booked Saturday) and how NICE they looked (the ones that
weren't chipped) and thought If I block out

No fax. Is it posted online somewhere?
I've done different SOG's I'm just wondering if there was anything different.
I noticed Lynnette said it required a primer and in the Archives it looks like
Elaine said it needs a top coat.
My basic application would be, basic nail Prep , primer (?),
THANK YOU Lisa!
I think their site is down, I couldn't get on.
Did you use a topcoat? does it have a nice finish shine w/o the topcoat?

I was looking at the Gel nails on the cover of Nails 'April'.
If i was going for length (like the stilettos on the cover)i thought acrylic
would be the better choice over gel?
Yet I've seen a lot of enhancements w/ glitter misc. bling with considerable
length done in gel.
I'm using Brisa
I have the Brisa at the shop the PNI at home. the footprint on the Brisa is
smaller than the PNI. As well I think the Brisa is easier more comfortable
for my clients.
Because of the lightbulb placement in the PNI I dont have to cure the thumbs
separately whereas I do in the Brisa.
Is anyone using Gelish?
Have you tested it on yourself or clients and what are your thoughts? What is
the soak off time?
Thanks

I HATE doing my taxes. I think the dread in my head is probably worse than the
actual doing it. I was all gung ho in January petered out by February...
I feel like doing taxes is some secret punishment I get for putting
mayo on my husband's sandwich when he asked for mustard or hiding his
I have a question... do you use the brush from the manufacturer of your acrylic
(or gel) product or do you use another?
Say you use CND lp... do you use a CND brush or do you use a Entity brush with
CND product?

The Footsie Bath... argh!! ARGH!!
I have two. My first took a puke, they sent me a new one second one did the
same thing. This was all within the first year. The heater on both heats up way
to high on mine as well making me think the thermostats are faulty (on both?
hm.). And the
Has anyone gone before? Are there many Nail vendors?
Half of our salon is going (all hair techs) and was wondering if it's worth
going...
Thanks

about you all weekend and how I should probably call you.
Huh really?
Tuesday night I had a lady sitting w/ a stylist asking for a full set a
pedicure before she left on vacation in the morning!! But oh no

I have a new client coming in on Wed. Her daughter (one of the stylist) is
getting married on Friday and she purchased the gift cert. for her mom. I've
seen her nails... they are frightening, I mean really scary. She's a nail
bitter right down to the quick and she picks at her cuticles. She
Ok thanks girls.
I think I'll sculpt those puppies on
I did this on my SIL put a bead at the edge, flattened it out, swiped my brush
underneath and made a free edge. Then applied a form.
I don't know why I wanted to do tips... I panicked!! Because when I first saw

I am very disappointed in my Footsie Bath. I can't wait to use up my liners and
get a Belava.
My first Footsie Bath was so noisy after a couple weeks they sent me a new one.
The second one didn't even last two months and it took a puke on me. Started
making loud noises now the heater

Rox,
I am imagining you with your hands on your hips saying this!!! (In a good way!)

I have a client that just started seeing me the first part of May.
Before me, prior to 2000 she had acrylic on and off. She had some kind of
reaction, her nails started to separate from the nail bed along the
side. Her doctor said her body did not like the acrylic and she took it
off for a
OMG! they're gorgeous! I got the Akzentz starter kit pee wee glitter samples and have not stopped since it
arrived!! IF I thought the dog would look good with them why he'd have them too! And I'm thinking my husband was so dazzled by my glittery toes he didn't even notice that I broke his
I'm moving to a new salon next week. Since this is a booth rental I'll be
booking my own appointments.
For those who do this through their cell phone what is the most
efficient/easiest way to handle this.
I'll change my voice mail to something like... if I'm not answering I'm

I found a new place to work!!
It's a booth rental. (actually it's a little room but lovely). It's $25 per day
which is not so bad... but I really like the owner. She's a stylist had many
shops been in the business for many years and is all about education, customer
service and being
I have a relatively new client with a vertical nail split on her thumb. She
said the
split has been there for several years and she's always just had
acrylic and a tip put on.
The first time I met her was during the holidays. She had stopped into
the salon just to ask what I thought was wrong
I'd like to
submit my entry to the Worst Toes Ever story...
It was just
this Wednesday. Yes... yes I remember it well... it was a chilly day... but
sunny... yeess it was sunny… the day is burned in my memory (and not from the
sun).
My client was 90. Bless her heart. Havin' a birthday party
Thanks Melody and Marsha,
The cracks are across from side to side almost at the smile line, more
to the free edge than back deeper into the nail.
I just put a tip on her this week for the first time. I prefer to sculpt
but she wanted a tip this time so I thought we'd try.
I'll put it on
Can I just say I LOVE my job!! Becoming a nail tech is one of the best
decisions I've made. I started school last year on Sept. 11. Got my license on
Dec. 12 and was working the next day.
While the salon is slow and they're trying to rebuild from the previous
owners I myself have
