myself to rewrite that bit
the luatx workflow only uses lua and uses luatex itself as lua

we'll see how many context+pdftex users are around in a few years from
now; of course i'll have a few existing workflows that use pdftex (and
probably for many years) but one seldom needs to generate

This problem is not an operating system issue, But a ConTeXt feature.
in font-mkii, you use the following to define a actual font
(\definefontlocal and \definefontglobal):

This only adds the --delete flag to texmf-context and texmf, others
are not touched. The consequence is that this won't delete your pdftex
binary automatically

When using ConTeXt to produce my documents, I found that all
hyperlinks are wrong. And here is a simple test.
The tex and pdf files are attached in the mail. The problem will happen when:
1) using pdftex to produce the dvi, and use dvipdfmx to convert the dvi to pdf.

Not that I understand why this happens (bug trigger looks extremely
weird), but if I load bib module, the colors in TikZ graphic are lost.
Commenting out bib module returns the color back. (I remember
reporting lack of colors not so long ago, though I'm not sure if it
was in pdftex
