Is it possible to put some short notes in the margin, together with a float?
Below is an example, which puts the float on top of the text in the margin.
The option « stack=yes » works fine for the margintext when there is no float,
but it does not seems to be an option which puts the figure
to trace this to hopefully figure out what
the problem is.
we really need an mwe ... as it's puzzling why lmtx is different (uses
the same code so must be some side effect)

use to diffferent captions for each figure: one as usual, with the float
description and number, and another one with a "Source" for said float.
Some
tuff comes from mf which is 8 bit. So, these
character numbers (and simensions) are not really saying much, other
than that they're properties of a figure.
(In context lmtx there will likely be some module for mp fonts. We can
already do a lot but there is some more potential.)
