What is the best way to have such a behavior ?
\placetable[force][reference]{caption}{some float}
I am not sure whether you can feed 'force' into
\setupfloat[location=force]
but you could try that also.
Best wishes,

edge of the right column.
Using \placetable[inmargin] (my best guess), this works fine for case
(2), but case (1) begins at the left edge of the left column and can
overprint the right column

I believe that you need to use \starttables\stoptables

No, what you need is \placetable[split,...]{...}{...}.
You don't need starttables/stoptables because the table environment goes
into the split mode
\stoptables

No, what you need is \placetable[split,...]{...}{...}.
You don't need starttables/stoptables because the table environment goes
into the split mode itself when you set either \setuptable[split=yes] or

I have this example:

1. Have you regenerated to format.
How to regenerated?

Hi,
I have a multi-page nature table and tried to give a caption by
\placetable[here][tab:sample]{sample table}{

But it will run wrong. It seems multipage stuff can not be float. Is
there any suggestion? Thanks.
