But if you're going to lay them off, it's a good idea to steel the employees,
first.

We combat that problem by using double opt-in (confirmed consent) and then
we store the source of the sign up (web form, sweepstakes entry, etc) along
with the date and include that in every email we send.
So it'll say something like Andy Ognenoff, you subscribed on 5/26/09 as

Joe,
Check your permissions on those files in use . When I've seen this in the
past, it was due to the account I was logged in with didn't have full control
of the file(s) in question. In that case, I would take ownership of said
files, modify permissions as needed, then kill it. IME, those

Not true Ive been using cached credentials with local accounts for years
without issue in these exact scripts. Previously we'd been a Netware
environment (so Windows workgroup) and everything worked perfectly. Only
since joining to our new domain has this been an issue.

Ok...my terminology must be wrong. :) I'm using the /savecred option of
runas with a local account that has special permissions.
I think I may just dump runas and try cpau instead. I'll see if that works
both in a workgroup and domain.

subsequent times. I think my use of the term cache was what was causing
confusion with AD cached credentials. My fault. :)

Doesn't work for me on XP SP3 but I'm switching to CPAU anyhow. Today, I
saw the error of my ways using /SAVECRED from a purely security perspective
in this posting:

Thanks for testing for me.
