Just got word that the Caracara was refound and photographed sitting in a tree on the side of the road about 1/2 mile north of where it was feeding on the deer carcass. This was at 4:45 today. The photos are posted on a hawkwatching facebook page. So the bird may well be there tomorrow as it

Tom Dulski and I spent several hours birding the perimeter of the Riis park golf course. It was loaded with sparrows of all of the expected varieties. Among them were 2 Vesper Sparrows and 2 Clay-colored Sparrows. Funny but the fields at Fort Tilden held very few birds compared to the golf
