RE: Sound Forge Requiring Administrator

After upgrading to Windows 10, I can only run Sound Forge 11 as administrator. When I do not do that, I get a dialog asking me to register, but when I press "NEXT" it seems to just disappear. This did not happen immediately after my upgrade, but this started happening several weeks after my upgrade to Windows 10. Has anybody found a way to fix this? Running as administrator works, but I would like to get back to being able to run it normally. RE: Victor Reader Stream 2nd Generation
The recording quality is ok for notes and meetings but not of high broadcast quality as with the bookport plus or Plextor Pocket range. And again we come to that bloody awful internal speaker. Another interesting point and its not critical just an observation, I wonder why Human ware didn’t include the ability to be able to browse NAS storage devices or other computers on a network for files? Just about every other device I know of these days - that can play Internet radio stations - haas this handy feature which and I reckon it would be an absolute boom! for users of a VR Stream. Perhaps I’m talking about a future VR Stream update though hHumanware take my advice, don’t make the update too big or it will take until Christmas for the VR Stream users to download . Firstly you couldn’t have looked everywhere for the update tool, I wrote about this yesterday I think it was, I found the tool along with associated documentation exactly where the people at B said it would be, in the Archives section of the site. Why is it there? Because B will not be releasing any further updates to the MM1 Speaker system, “if it aint’ broke then don’t fix it”. I even told you how to run a simple test to see if your MM1 system had the latest firmware update running and I repeat, if you press the “Power Off/Standby” button on the remote control and your MM1’s go into “Standby” mode straight away then you have the latest firmware installed. If you press then “Standby” button and the MM1’s take some time to power down then you need to download the updater. My system has the latest firmware update installed - according to the test procedure I outlined above - and I’m willing to bet that the same will apply to your model given the update was released nearly 2 years ago - march 2015 -. RE: Internet Radios: Stand-Alone Models
I see I'm refering to the 27 C model not 28 C -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: Sunday, 10 July 2016 10:57 AM To: PC Audio Discussion ListSubject: Internet Radios: Stand-Alone Models Hi! Streaming and listening to Internet Radio is perhaps one of my favourite hobbies. In 2011 I was fascinated by the Logitech Squeezebox Boom, a stand-alone device which could play both Internet Radio streams and allow the user to stream audio to it via a Computer or similar. In 2012 the then Logitech Squeezebox Smart Radio came along and this added portability to the mix - whilst the Smart Radio was in range of a Wi-Fi network I could enjoy the benefits of Internet Radio and my Music library through the top class speaker of the device .- In 2013 I purchased a Sangean WRF-28D radio though I didn't like it much. Whilst the functionality was pretty good - again allowing the playback of Internet radio, streaming music and so on - the quality of the in-built speaker was very poor in my view, the radio had terrible DAB+ reception and FM was very bad so it was with interest that I read about the replacement model from Sangean, the WRF-28C which I bought some weeks ago and here are my notes concerning this model as opposed to the older D model. The radios look exactly the same but there are quite a few changes inside the radio. Firstly the FM and DAB+ have been improved. You'll notice the vast improvement in speaker quality, it now sounds very respectible considering the speaker is only a 3 inch driver. Volume is considerably louder than on the previous model. The new C model will allow the user to play Spotify using Spotify Connect. Most important of all in my view is the incredibl battery life of the new model compared to the old, at least twice the life of the old model, I get 22 hours out of a set of 7500MAH batteries which is impressive. Operations between the two models are pretty much the same and the newer C model - as with the D - can be remotely accessed via the Undok IOS/Android App and can be streamed to via your computer or compatible DLAN Application. Be warned however that availability of the newer model is restricted in Australia at least so you may have to look carefully to find it, I bought mine from Trevor Lees Audio in Kew Victoria and they have a web site which you can eaisly find on Google or eBay, another place to look is JB Hi-Fi. -- ** Those who don't need help are prepared to help themselves --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus
RE: Internet Radios: Stand-Alone Models
Is this the model that is smaller has only the headphone jack with out the USB and takes 6 double A batteries? Jamie -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: Sunday, 10 July 2016 10:57 AM To: PC Audio Discussion ListSubject: Internet Radios: Stand-Alone Models Hi! Regarding the IOS/Android Apps? I’m not sure all the drive management features are available through that but you certainly can remotely manipulate/retrieve/share your files, send them to Dropbox or other services etc. > On 26 Jan 2016, at 9:30 AM, Jamie Kelly <otrja...@gmail.com> wrote: > > I use the setup software at: > http://download.wdc.com/nas/mc_windows_setup.exe > and once I setup my folders with permissions I put shortcuts to the folders > on my desktop, then you can copy the shortcuts to any computers on your > network and access your folders. RE: Editing Mouth Noise and Braille Display Clicks
You could try Sound Forge and with the Jaws scripts you can use the EQ, shift and pitch sliders Etc. If you have some vision, Adobe Audition is very good also if it's still available. I wonder if anybody can please advise. I currently record using a broadcasting encoder and edit my content using GoldWave. However, I'm having significant issues with the presence of mouth clicks and the constant sounds of my Braille display as I move from line to line (or as the cursor flashes). I find that GoldWave's editing options are generally too weak to have any impact or too aggressive to leave a high-quality recording. I currently have Depopper; could this be used to remove the issues described above (and also the hiss of room ambience)? If so, any advice on particular settings would be appreciated. Pretty much what I think too. I certainly wouldn't want to be listening through the internal speaker of any device such as an iPhone for no longer than is necessary and - if you're listening to iPhones as we have to do ti use them - then the Internal speakers just keep getting better for use with Voiceover but if you're planning to listen to Podcasts, read books and so on then it won't be long before you find the internal speaker to be an irritation. I have listened to Internet radio and so forth using the internal speaker of my iPhone 6, its a pleasing listen but I much prefer something like the Bose Slund Link Air, Mini or III to listen through if I'm going to listen to Internet radio. I'm typing this eMail on a Bluetooth keyboard whilst listening to feedback from Voiceover through the internal speaker and that's perfectly fine for me, introducing extra elements such as Bluetooth speakers whilst typing can cause problems such as delays in response to what you're typing from Voiceover etc though the modern Bluetooth devices with latter versions of Bluetooth seem to be a lot better in this regard. I'm expecting my leather case for my iPhone 6 to arrive today, will be interesting to see how Voiceover sounds on the iPhone 6 after its been put into its new home. Anyone had any success using the Bowse SoundTouch IOS App to use the Bowse music system? You're right to wait a long time when the JAWS installation seems to get stuck. But you're equally right to give up after two hours on 87%. I believe the new Stream is a good alternative for those users that find the Plextor Pocket navigation and menus to complicated. Now I've never received this before and - whilst Its obviously possible to receive the service as I proved - I always thought you'd need a bigger aerial than I was using, I just used the built-in telescopic whip of the radio which is around 6 feet long. Perhaps what makes things different these days is the absence of a lot of traffic from the SW bands. For those interested in this radio I recommend it as it is one of the few these days to offer both dual conversion circuitry and a variable RF-gain control across all frequencies from 100-2KHZ. The set also comes equipped with a very nice DSP which brings the radio alive! when listening to medium-wave broadcasts where a strong signal is next to a waker one, the DSP allows the weaker signal to be heard intelligibly. For those who have a computer then you can add extra facilities to the radio by use of the data sockets on the bottom, what these extra facilities actually are I'm not sure but I suspect you can hook the radio up to your computer to use software which will decode morse, teletype and DRM broadcasts. And then there were the folks who would purchase an album, record it to tape (open reel or cassette) then send it back for a refund. I never did that one. That wasn't fair to anyone. But it's so much nicer now. I have lots of open reels and cassettes, and vinyl that I need to put into mp3 files. It's a long job. I'm hoping I can find someone who wants all those reels, cassettes, and vinyl of music and old radio when I'm done with them. A friend of mind, invited me to join her in her Dropbox account, that's how I got it! Now to answer your question about how long you can leave files on any server, with Send Space, you can specify a time limit, so I understand. With Dropbox, you can leave the file or files up until you get ready to delete them. When you download and install the software, it will put a folder in My Documents on your computer that's entitled, My Dropbox. You can upload the files from there. But you don't really need to do anything, because the software will take care of that for you. All you have to do is, email the link to the file to someone if you wish to send it to anyone. Storage space, I don't know about Send Space. But with Dropbox, you can do this 2 ways. #1. you can invite a friend to join you on your account to increase your storage space. Or #2. you can rent more storage space for a price. Other wise, you will start out with about 1 GB of storage space. Hope this helps. My best regards. Sound Forge Pro 10 navigation issues
I'm using SF with Snowmen's Jaws scrips. I've somehow changed a setting as I now can't use the arrow keys and the page up page down and left and right arrow keys to navigate and select audio. I've look at the scanning options settings with no success either. Any clues to solve this would be much appreciated. I am finding using the I and O keys to mark selections very inaccurate with this version of SF. Older versions have been 100% ok. (Just one of my many frustrations with SF 10) and I can't go back as no prior versions seem to work with Win 7 64. The souns goes forward or back and plays, but I got this stuff about going in and out of menues. Anyway my point is that Snowman helped me last weekend and told me to set it to Standard Stop method and then re-train the transport controls with control+alt+shift+t. It worked for me. So I wonder if there is this training mode in the SF10 scripts. Tonight at CUG someoen said you had a very good mobile phone with good keys.
