Is it NLS capable yet? Thought they were waiting for that capability. This
would take it out of the running if one was going to use it for nls books.

Oh the pocket is great as a recorder, but from what I've seen, it's not much
to write home about as a player. I would go with the BookSense
Stream V Book Sense
I noticed the Plextalk Pocket has been left out in the discussion at hand.

Okay, I don't have a Book Sense but I do have a Victor reader Stream.
One thing I like about the Stream is that all prompts and messages are

With a card reader and the Companion software, I think transferring
files to the VRS is quite easy. I use a PC, so that's probably why
it is so, as I'm not sure if the Companion software works on a mac.
I also like the human voice prompts. However, the synthesized voices

I have done several podcasts with my booksense xt and transfered the files to
my macbook and uploaded them to my podcast page.

That's exactly my point, you're using the software to do all the
transfer and you shouldn't have to do that, you shouldn't have to use
software to convert the audio format to something standard either and -
most of all - you shouldn't have to purchase a memory card reader
because of the slow

I have never even used the VR's native transfer. I got a card reader
and its not hard to just copy the files on the card. They have software
to do this as well, but I never felt the need for such software.
The stream already plays mp3,ogg and I think wma, but am not sure of the
wma. I never
