After a weekend with the *ist-D I'm well pleased. Here's an image from race day: http://panix.com/~johnf/temp/LBGP4.jpg (1/800 @ f6.3, FA* 250-600 @ 250) The *ist-D had no problem focussing the big lens, and the two appear to work quite well together.

Thanks, Cotty. Just name the boozer. I think Gianfranco may be being slightly optimistic about his ETA in Central London, and Hammersmith/Chiswick are not central. It would probably make sense to meet around four or five, perhaps at the Dove, as that's walkable from Hammersmith tube.

Hello Simon, I get 8X12's printed quite commonly. You have to go a lab that will do it - my local Sams Club will not print them. The lab I normally use will print them. As for frames/mats, 8X12 is not common but does exist. The family may not have ever looked in a full service lab or frame

A near and dear friend of mine gave me a plant. I put it in my garden. One of the blooms soon leaned over as though to kiss a nearby daffodil, so I shot the two blooms and called it Friends. I know a lot of people make fun of flower photography, perhaps because it's not very difficult. But I

Loads fine for me Paul... Wow, John, that is some WILD lookin' bokeh! I am guessing that the heat from the road had a bit to do with it... Not really - it's more to do with the fact that several 750+ HP power-plants are zipping through that 'concrete canyon' every 90 seconds or so; all

This one's got dust on it, so I'd guess film - maybe your 5x4 with some incline on the front standard, as there is good DOF through the centre of the subject? Don't know enough to guess the lens, but I recall someone, perhaps you, talking about having picked up a new and very cheap lens standard
