Thanks Rick. There are big building south of the pier, hotels primarily,
including Lowes where I always used to stay. But the beach houses north of the
pier are of modest size. But not modest price of course.

Thanks Bipin. The background is too bright. I'm not happy with the rendering
and will revise it today. The brightness setting on my monitor had change,
probably due to an inadvertent keystroke, and I didn't notice until after I had
posted this. The sky has some tonality on the neg.

Thank you, Frank. And thanks everyone who looked or commented.
Regarding that ripped top, to allay fears that it represents violence
of any kind: it was purposefully torn by the model's boyfriend to
create a peek-a-boo garment for posing like this. Sans rips, it would

Thank you very much, Dan! Thank you too, Ken, P.J., and Mark!
Sorry you aren't partial to the pasties, but they were done to add a

I prefer the new version. The sky/clouds of the first one wasn't such a bother
to me but I found there wasn't enough tonal contrast between machine and
background. It needed to jump put from the trees, and that wasn't happening in
version 1.0.
Version 1.1 is a huge improvement in tonality and
No blown highlights on the hat...

I wonder how much of this was due the latitude of the film and

Yes, indeed.
I was thinking of using some cloth for a background.
And did a few times, without much success.
The best background was the invisible one, which obviously defeats the purpose.
Now I see that this kind of textured, solid background can add an
image
Much of that was achieved in post. But Portra 400 has good latitude, and I
usually rated it at ISO 320, which seemed to make it even better.

She has an absolutely striking face. As usual with you, the photo is
technically flawless.
I'm looking at it on my phone, and when I "enlarge" it, effectively cropping
it just below her left hand, I find it a much more compelling image. It focuses
my attention on her face.
