I'm finally getting a workflow together for making focus stacks with the
K1 in pixel shift mode: Make the exposures as raw files, process them
in Silkypix with only basic adjustments to exposure and white balance
(about all that you can do in Silkypix), stack the images in Zerene
stacker. Open the output TIFF's in Photoshop CS6 configured so the tiffs
run through Adobe Camera Raw. ACR allows for fine tuning exposure,
shadows, highlights, saturation, vibrance, and clarity - things that
Silkypix can only do crudely or not at all. And then on to post
processing as usual.

Mark.

I've sold small folding calendars - about 5"X7" closed, double that when
opened and 5"X7" greeting cards - these were made from blanks purchased
from http://www.photographersedge.com/. You simply attach your image to
their blanks - good quality product with a large variety of card types
to choose from. I use to print my own images for these but recently
found out I can get 4"X6" prints cheaper than I can print them for and I
don't have to take the time to print - simply select images and send to
printer - I use Bay Photo BTW https://www.bayphoto.com/products/

Subject: Help! Showing Photos at Art Show

Okay, this is something I've been thinking about doing for years.

I've only showed photographs once before, at ANOTHER art show, not
this one. Both have ceramics, jewelry and other things as well.

To my total surprise I actually sold a photo the previous time. One of
my "artified" photos (made it all B, except for two things I colored
in).

This art show has been going on for years, and decided to jump in this
year.

So I am not really expecting to sell any photos. I have to bring full
sized photos, but I was thinking cards, because they do seem to sell.

Questions

1. Any other products that sell well other than cards? (From your
experience.) Not sure I want to spend the money on making up small
notebooks, calendar notebooks, or calendars, but like to hear your
experience.

2. Anyone have any particular online card making place to recommend?

Now I have to come up with a quick portfolio, regular and artified
photographs to show to the organizer.

1. Any other products that sell well other than cards? (From your
experience.) Not sure I want to spend the money on making up small
notebooks, calendar notebooks, or calendars, but like to hear your
experience

I've sold small folding calendars - about 5"X7" closed, double that when
opened and 5"X7" greeting cards - these were made from blanks purchased from
http://www.photographersedge.com/. You simply attach your image to their
blanks - good quality product with a large variety of card types to choose
from. I use to print my own images for these but recently found out I can
get 4"X6" prints cheaper than I can print them for and I don't have to take
the time to print - simply select images and send to printer - I use Bay
Photo BTW https://www.bayphoto.com/products/

Okay, this is something I've been thinking about doing for years.

I've only showed photographs once before, at ANOTHER art show, not this
one. Both have ceramics, jewelry and other things as well.

To my total surprise I actually sold a photo the previous time. One of my
"artified" photos (made it all B, except for two things I colored in).

This art show has been going on for years, and decided to jump in this

So I am not really expecting to sell any photos. I have to bring full

2. Anyone have any particular online card making place to recommend?

Now I have to come up with a quick portfolio, regular and artified
photographs to show to the organizer.

This one sounds like he's got a front-right wheel bearing that needs to

Might be but it could also be wind noise due to the camera being mounted on

I encountered the same issue with my Go Pro mounted on the outside of the

Re: Help! Showing Photos at Art Show

2017-05-07 Thread Marnie (aka Doe)
She meant hanging photos. I don't just do 11x16's or something, I do all
sizes of hanged photos. It meant framed. I have been to that art show
before and knew what she meant.

That is a cool idea, I didn't want to have to mat a lot of photos, which
is the way a lot of people display them (photos in mats with no frames -
in a bin or something where people can flip through them). I don't want
to put a lot of expense into this.

I did have a web page but I have let it lapse and I am still considering
reviving it or doing something else. A lot of my problem with it was I
was "rolling my own" web page and thumbnail gallery and I found it more
and more time intensive.

This would be a one time thing, unless there is enough interest to
encourage me to show/sell more of my photos than I have to date.

Thanks for the input.

I really like the picture of Chris. Is that an ice cream van, as another
message stated? It looks most like a Popemobile to me, but the setting
makes that seem unlikely, and I don't think there were Popemobiles that
long ago, and on closer inspection, there appears to be a refrigerator in
the passengers seat...

It is high desert, and if you go in the fall or April it is quite

this kind of exploring is high clearance vehicle and lots and lots of
water, a broad brimmed hat for treking and plenty of sunscreen.

oh yes, and a camera :-)
