A grey warbler came to visit our garden this evening. They're a very small
bird, smaller than a sparrow. And they don't really stop moving. You usually
hear them instead of seeing them (they have a wonderful song).
These aren't amazing but they're the best I managed to get from 22 photos.

I found it interesting that my DSLR largely sat on the shelf since my daughter

Just four photos: I decided to make them into a small gallery instead of
multiple photo links.
I've had a few attempts at getting some photos of our monarch caterpillars
lately but either the caterpillars or the light wasn't quite cooperating.
Today I managed to get a handful that I liked,

I'd add that you need at least one copy which is normally disconnected from the
computer so

I've been itching to photograph some birds with the K5ii but they haven't been
cooperating. This morning we found a greenfinch making a meal of the seeds
from our sunflowers so I grabbed a couple of quick shots. I'm not happy with
the background of these but I had no control over that.

The last of my series from the garden on Tuesday.
This one's on a dried-up snow pea leaf (which reminds me I ought to plant some
more):

Here are a couple more from my look around the garden on Tuesday.
First, a flower... I don't know which variety it is. I probably need to
brighten this a bit.

And I saw this article about it linked from a news site this morning.

I put a long lens on the K5ii this morning to try out the AF. Of course, no
birds bothered to show up so I had to make do. This is straight from the
camera, no adjustments except for cropping a bit off the top.

Pentax K5ii with FA*400mm f/5.6,
It's been a long time since I bought anything photographic but I recently found
a used K5ii at a reasonable price, and it arrived today. This is a big upgrade
from my K10D.
I went outside and took a couple of photos just after my daughter went to bed
but the light was getting a bit low. No
I decided it's about time I used up the film that's been sitting in my old film
cameras since about 2007 when I bought my K10D.
I had one frame left on my Pentax 6x7. I'll be interested to see what was on
that film but the second-last frame (at least) is going to be toast as I seem
to recall

We went past it on our way to the central library before the service. Its
rebuild is expected to take between 7 and 10 years.
