That certainly is a lot of camera for the Mr. Rich. But who would need
it? Certainly not me, an average enthusiast, happy with my Pentax
DSLR. Of interest to a specialist photographer perhaps, who can afford
an Assistant to carry that stuff with its equally costly Tripod. Or a

The focal length (77 to 85 mm, APS-C 116 to 128 mm) appears to be a
bit odd. Where would one use this focal length on an APS-C camera? I
understand the 50 mm serves well as a Portrait Lens at 75 mm on an
APS-C Body.
And I don't cover indoor sports, where these lenses may be useful -

BW on a DSLR. Reason: todays DSLRs have built in color filters, which
you can use very easily, rather than attaching a filter physically.
So also photo programs like Photoshop have a variety and strengths of

My son just bought a Sony Alpha Nex-3N with a 16-50 zoom from Costco
Toronto for CAD 400. Excellent compact camera with a tiny power zoom
lens.
We compared photos with the Canon S-90 PS and the Nex-5R. The Nex-3N
won in all categories - sharpness, color, contrast, exposure and
bokeh.

Mark, if you plan to visit the classical Italian Cities do not forget
to carry a SWA Lens like the Sigma 10-20. The streets are pretty
narrow and you will suddenly find yourself in a huge square with very
tall monuments, Churches and Towers which the standard 16 or 18 mm
lenses cannot cope with. I
Larry, the Tamron Back Caps are pretty good at covering the Electronic
Contacts on the Lens. There was a Seller offering Lens Back Caps that
were Weather Proof for some $ 10 or so each. Try Googling. It does
cover the electronic contacts as well.
