I'd actually ordered a ZX80, but as the ZX81 was in the process of
launching, Sinclair kindly offered to change to order to a ZX81.

can't even combine them into easier to handle groups of pages.

to put a program to sleep in button frame is to use the
BUTTON_SLEEP thing. Define a hotkey to call it: ERT
HOT_WAKE(CHR$(233),'button_sleep')

Be aware that interpreted programs run at different speeds on systems
where you can choose to use SMSQ/E or QDOS, e.g. Super Gold Card or
QemuLator using Aurora/SGC SMSQ-E/QDOS ROM. I can't remember sorry if

I suspect this probably has absolutely nothing to do with it in this
case, but for lesser issues it can sometimes be useful to run a laptop
keyboard under the American keyboard layout (country code 1) if you
are having problems with #, @ etc.
