S SCALE LOCOMOTIVE SUPPLY used to have journal boxes, both friction and
roller bearing. I got some roller bearing covers for my FA/FB set years ago.
They weren't (aren't) exactly correct, but that could be because of the way I
removed the friction box covers, which, of course, came to light
Andre, Im not sure if in stock, but S scale Loco Supply lists non functional plain bearing journals in brass, part, number 68-1, for $1.50 ea. I think from the drawing in the old catalog, that these would be what you want. I think these were designed for steam loco trailing truck
A quick and dirty approach would be to use craft store latex rubber mold
material or even plasticine modeling clay to make a quick mold of the journal
on an SHS switcher truck, then cast in 5 min epoxy.

I just realized that a week has passed since the 7th Annual NOSS Inter-State
Get Together last Saturday, 09/28/13. Although this was my second time at the
event, it was my first visit to the Sudimak residence, where Sharron graciously
