Many of Doc Johnson's Midgage cars are down here on a complete train
owned by Jack Troxell. They have never been detailed but when his
layout was running weekly it took a lot of power up front to move them.
Even aluminum that thick has some weight plus the trucks of the time

Yes the cover opens and closes. Thanks for the compliment on the smoke box
color. Did you noticed the difference in shine on the loco. The idea was for a
great shine and then weather it back. There is no dull coat on the loco. The
egg shell appearance on the top is from the thee smoke
I just received a SHS 2-8-0 (dc, without sound) that I won on Ebay. I've put
Tsunami decoders (with sound) in all of my engines,
including one of Billy Wades Ma Pa's. Have any of you, put a sound
decoder in one of these SHS 2-8-0's? Any major problems

SHS had a daughter board to go with the Tsunami units. I think it was mostly
for controlling the smoke unit, but also had headlight resistors.
Lacking that board, just be sure you put resistors in for the headlights. I
was a DCC newbie when I put an MRC sound decoder in mine and eventually
