I notice the discussion of current regulation, electrode geometry
etc.
Here is my 2 cents worth.
Every one is correct in this discussion as far as they go.
All generators work in exactly the same manner, that is sintering
silver atoms from the anode (positive electrode), and all produce
perfectly

OOPS! Tee hee...
Bob, the silver Carmen is hoping to make would be Colloidal
Silver. At least that's the way I interpret it! GRIN
It is too easy to make this more complicated than it really is.
Believe me I *know* and sympathise. Thank you, Bob.

Hello Susan,
We recommend running our generator for 4 hours in 16 ounces of distilled
water. After 4 hours the PPM will be approximately 16 PPM. This is a
linear function because the current is held constant. Therefore the
quantity of silver released is constant. 1 hr.=4 PPM, 2 hr.=8 PPM, 3

Hello Ivan,
Well said. I guess the only thing I might disagree with is the electrode
surface area not being a function of particle size. My feeling is that if
the current density is high, the particle size increases because the ions
are being more forcibly ripped off the electrode. It rings

I am really new at this and thought the list of things to do with CS is

the soap for an antibacterial quality? I use tea tree oil in some of it and

The lye will not affect CS. If incorporated into soap you may find that
less is more, as far as using the soap. That is the less soap used, the
more antimicrobal it is, up to a point. (IE. when using use little soap
and lots of water). That is what we found in our studies of a similar

Dr. Hunter of Foundations of Colloidal Science says that colloid behavior
is very much affected by the presence of surface active agents, such as
sodium laurel sulfate. To even approach how this works specifically with
CS is beyond my knowledge. But it may not be beneficial if you get less CS
