Jon,
If you are a hobbyist and do it for yourself, you might be right.
It is a very narrow and egoistic view and does not leave much
space for production, use, sales and distribution of biofuels
as an alternative energy resource. Obviously you want a more

The same distribution model is being applied to present day biodiesel, with
vast production of acreage, centralized manufacture and global distribution.
Call up any company distributing any type of biofuel. If you're willing to
pay the price, they're willing to ship it from across the globe.
Dear Marc,
Good idea! I think young Keith is putting it onto journeytoforever.

Hello all
We have been testing Alecs Fool Proof process and find it to work after
several long and time consuming testings (adding lye/methanol several
times
and removing the glyrein).

Well, that's one way. As I said, various people adapt it to their
requirements and preferences, and it seems to adapt well. The best
way though, according to much feedback, our own findings and Aleks's
continuing work, is

Tomas,
I had a similar problem with WVO from a restaurant when I tried the
foolproof recipe allthough it worked fine with virgin oil. I had some
sort of success using the two stage acid based version with a recipe

If you say so Paul. I disagree, what I do also disagrees, on all

methanol at .82 cents a gallon is cheap, but it really doesn't
make that huge of a difference to a homebrewer. I pay about $2 a

costs for heating it. There';s not a huge difference between 50

It makes a big difference to me. The only major cost to me is methanol. The
first batch I made cost abot .70/litre that's $2.80/U.S. gallon, not

sorry folks,
I didn't mean to imply that homebrew biodiesel would cost 30
cents a gallon if your methanol costs were the listed tanker price.
It was just an arbitrary figure to illustrate that once you're going at
75 % less than the cost of petro diesel, it really doesn't seem to

It certainly makes a difference in your case, because you're not in
an area where methanol is available cheaply. Most people in the
US, however, can get it for an inconsequential price... you may
want to explore methanol recovery

I have concidered methanol recovery, but it will be in the future when I am
set up better. How much of the methanol will stay in the glycerine? I am
still trying to source a cheaper supplier for methanol and will keep going

Im being faced with the clean up of rather heavy clay soaked with old motor
oil. What are the most effective processes currently being used for
reclaiming such an environmental problem. Is there a process that produces a
positive environmental effect??
