Momentan verwnde ich Path für Wege, die durch die Nutzung
enstehen (Trampelpfade) und für alle richtig angelegten Footway. Bei
Footway kann man dann ja ganz gut mit foot=designated und so die
Unterteilung machen.

La provincia di Aosta di fatto non esiste più dal 1948. Prima di diventare
regione autonoma era una provincia del Piemonte. Quindi gli unici enti

とりあえず併記を廃止すると同時に、基準とする道路名は行政レベルで使用される「路線名」を使うことを推奨するということでどうでしょう。
強く反対です。
先の例、
name = 四条通 (Shijo-dori) ; 京都市道186号嵐山祇園線
ですと、
あそこは（山下の考える）京都人の共通認識として
「四条通」であって
「京都市道186号嵐山祇園線」でも
「京都市道186号」でも
「嵐山祇園線」でもありません。
学術的？データとしては「京都市道186号嵐山祇園線」も正しいので、
OSM としてどこを目指すか

highway
の名前については、それが何であろうと、現地に掲示してあるものを記述する、で良いと思います。一つしかなければ、それが通りの名前だろうが、路線名だろうが、商店街の名前だろうがなんでもいい。複数掲示があって初めて、タグの使い分けを考える。複数ある中に通りの名前があるならそれが優先（なんせ
StreetMap ですから）。あとはケースバイケースで選定理由を書いておく、くらいでいいのではないかと。

Awesome you're working on this.
My only qualm with the data is that some buildings have more nodes than
they need, but I'm not sure what can be done about it besides manually
reviewing
and simplifying all 200k+ outlines.

If you carefully read the original mail, you will see two download
links. Both of those links it says the data is public domain I don't
think the the web site terms of use apply. The data can't both be in
the public domain and have a license.

玩了 OSM 一下, 我首先碰到的問題是許多登山相關 feature 不知道該怎麼 tag,
即使是 http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Hiking 也不見得有提到,
或是 wiki page 雖有, 但不在同個 page 又不是中文, 檢索不易.
所以我花了一點時間讀了許多 wiki page, 整理出我有興趣的 tags.
