doesn't? And if you are so keen on a gui-based score editor,

I can't help with that at all, but please open an issue at
https://github.com/wbsoft/python-ly/issues and attach some .ly and exported XML
code. What you describe shouldn't happen, not even now.

Or rather say a little more clearly *where* you have these extra flats (in the
LilyPond code, the exported MusicXML, some consuming application, ...)

For all the experimentality, this doesn't really look like a typical case of
the exporter's limitations.

Frescobaldi does have export to MusicXML. But it is still very experimental,
therefore you have to enable "experimental features" in the preferences.

 Hello Hans Friedrich,

your XML and PMX folders should be subfolders of the folder which contains the
executable.
And then the command file for the example is:
 ./XML2PMX "./XML/Telemann.xml" "./PMX/Telemann.pmx" ""
The two double quotes at the end are required.

But you can send me as well your XML file, and I will handle it for you.

Or you send me the stuff as pdf, and I will OCR-scan it to XML and then to PMX.

I agree with Bob that Midi will cause information loss.

I believe the frescobaldi editor for lilypond files will
export to musicxml. I'd guess that this is a better route
than going via midi.

Since I’ve recently been working with Dieter as he is making some improvements
to XML2PMX, even before your 2nd post I thought some path involving an XML
might be the way to go.

Dieter will probably respond when he can. I can’t help with your immediate
problem beyond saying to check the path, because it looks like it’s simply not
finding the xml file. Beyond that I can tell you it would probably be useful if
you could post the xml file.

Hello,

as a first try, I converterd my midi with rosegarden to xml. Than I tried
xml2pmx, but this tells me

hfst@linux-hzgh:~/noten/martha_kommunion> ~/bin/XML2PMX_LINUX-170108/XML2PMX
"./XML/Gott_baut_ein_Haus.xml" "./PMX/Gott_baut_ein_Haus.pmx" "dvs"

./XML/Gott_baut_ein_Haus.xml
./PMX/Gott_baut_ein_Haus.pmx
DVS
 output control set : 1|2|3|
This is XML2PMX Version 1.1 .
Inputfile./XML/Gott_baut_ein_Haus.xml not available.

Hello,

although maybe off topic:

I am using nted
(https://vsr.informatik.tu-chemnitz.de/staff/jan/nted/nted.xhtml ) but I need
some kind of pmx, m-tx or tex output.

Does someone know a sensible workflow?

nted is able to produce midi and lilypond files.

Thanks

Hans Friedrich
