There is no mechanism in the servlet API that lets you do what you are describing. However, you could fairly easily set up your own fake sessions that behave sort of like servlet sessions for this purpose, and assign your own identifiers independent of the session identifiers created by the

The PasswordPrompter add-on module was a late addition to Tomcat 3.3, so there would be something available. The only documentation that exists outside of the source in the PasswordPrompter.war is that at the download site: http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat/release/v3.3/add-ons/

It looks like on a jsp:include from Tomcat 4.0.1 on Solaris x86 (JDK 1.3.1_01) I'm getting a IllegalStateException when the JSP engine actually attempts to include the file (Stack Trace from include in JSP is at the end). For the Apache side of things I've got document-root set to /www/si/sifk/

If the standard shutdown approach does not work, that is a bug. Whether the bug is in your code or in Tomcat is the next thing to be determined. What is *supposed* to happen: - Tomcat calls the destroy() method of all your servlets - (Tomcat 4.0 only) Tomcat calls the contextDestroyed() method
