OpenOffice can not open Works-files. You must use Works save the files
from Works to Excel-format.

Sweden there are often OO.o on that CD, among other programs.

Having just installed open office 2.0.4 on my mac os 10.3.9 I find it
impossible to print. The printer (epson 1280) shows up in the dialog
