mod_jk version : 1.2.30
My web runs through servlet.

I would think you have configured mod_jk to use worker1 as the only worker
in apache. You should use the loadbalancer worker in mod_jk.conf like
JkMount /myapp/* loadbalancer
and change your worker.properties to inlude the loadbalancer worker in the
worker.list property like

You really should totally drop the idea of rotating an open logfile from
the outside. The file descriptor is open in the writing process and it
will proceed to use the file descriptor, which will point to the rotated
file and after compression will be deleted
