Bernd, thanks. That did it, I switched to 4.3.1 and now it all works. Weirdness. AFAIK I thought Junit4 begin with @Before but I could be wrong since 4.x is new to me (I just went to the FAQ and trieed out the test case just to make sure surefire was working properly and chaos ensued). Thanks

WAR plugin issue with classpath prefixes

Is there a way to set the default classpath prefix in the manifest of a WAR? I can do it all day in a JAR using the classPathPrefix tag but it seems the WAR plugin doesn't support this which to me would be a bad oversight. I rather not include the JARS in WEB-INF/lib and my EAR's lib directory
