Cool idea, but I would still advise against using a healthy system for this purpose. I like you're style but it sounds like a lot of work. I like the idea
of using the actual tube for the front. I think the fewest changes to
the outside look would be best. I may know where I can get some SEs to
try it.

You haven't seen the pictures? There are probably hundreds of
Macquariums out there... I would, however, save any useful systems and
only use dead/salvaged machines for such a purpose.
