these pages from search engines, so we don't just want to delete them completely. I can add a big yellow banner at the top saying "This information has been superceded by the guide in the wiki" and point people there, but I just wanted to check what others think, in case there are better ideas!

OK, I've updated the download page so that the options in the "Choose your operating system" box now say "32 bit" and "64 bit" instead of "x86" and "x86_64". I've also changed "Mac OS X" to "macOS". These are just the short names so it shouldn't affect anything -- I've tested all the downloads
