I doubt this is much help, but I did notice that if you applied position:
relative to the strong element that it behaved the same in IE6 as it does
in FF. Otherwise, in IE6, it displays as it should.

If, at any point, you set the font-size of a li or it's parents to use
em's, then cascading lists will inherit the em's size and either grow or
Thanks! That was it... My first experience with that...but it may
explain another one I used to have on a different site.

I just came across a mention of an IDE for developing websites called
NVU. The website for this software is at http://www.nvu.com/index.html
and claims on the website to be both open-source and
standards-compliant. Anyone have experience with this application?

You're right. :) Guess all the wasted

Anyway, Im sure we cant satisfy everyone because we all have different
resolutions and screen sizes and preferences and whatnot. Hey, at least
we arent designing for 600 * 480 anymore!
Can we get a huge AMEN on that?

Beautiful concept... I just would like to see the main column expand to
the width of the available space... Have to do a lot of scrolling to
reach the bottom... but just beautiful.

Tables wouldn't do this. Also, lists are just easier for me to use

Anybody have thoughts on this?
Well, for me, the deciding factor on using a table is if the elements
could eliminate some of that.

Try applying the list-item-style property to the UL element. I had this
problem before and it seems to prefer this option apply to the whole
list and not just a single LI element.

there is something odd about the file itself (possibly missing a closing

Just a few ideas to further narrow down the possibilities on the issue
